Sat Jul 1916:26Brooks Baldwin Reinstated from the Injured List
Chicago White Sox utility man Brooks Baldwin (back) was reinstated from the injured list on Saturday, a day after beginning his rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. In his only rehab game, Baldwin hit a home run and scored two runs through seven innings of work in the outfield. Now, he returns to the White Sox, and while he isn't slated to start on Saturday, he should still see some time all over the field. Through 54 games played this season, Baldwin has at least ten appearances at second base, shortstop, and in the outfield. At the plate, he posted a pedestrian .227/.271/.357 slash line this season, he did have seven hits over his last five games played before getting injured. He is worth monitoring in the deepest of leagues and could see a more prominent role on the team after the trade deadline.

Sat Jul 1914:12Brooks Baldwin Hits Home Run in First Rehab Game
Chicago White Sox utilityman Brooks Baldwin (back) hit a solo home run in his first rehab game on Friday with Triple-A Charlotte. He finished the game 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, one strikeout, and an additional run scored. He played seven innings in left field before being replaced. It's unclear when he will return to the White Sox, but he may not need much more work on this rehab if he can continue to hit and get on base. Through 54 games this season, Baldwin has posted a .227/.271//.357 slash line with four home runs hit. He will look to improve on a subpar 28.4% strikeout rate and a below-average 5.3% walk rate. Upon his return, he will likely get a shot to play in the outfield, similar to what he did earlier this season. He is worth a look in the deepest of leagues.

Wed Jul 913:30Brooks Baldwin Placed on the 10-Day Injured List
Chicago White Sox utilityman Brooks Baldwin (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list as the team enters the All-Star break. Baldwin was scratched from Tuesday's lineup ahead of a loss to the Blue Jays and had appeared in every game since his July 1 call-up. Baldwin provides defensive versatility, but his offensive output has been limited, posting a 28.4% strikeout rate and just a 2.4% home run rate. The White Sox have recalled first baseman Tim Elko. Elko struggled during an earlier 18-game stint with the club, but launched 16 home runs at Triple-A Charlotte this season, bringing much-needed power to a lineup lacking punch.

Tue Jul 818:21Brooks Baldwin Scratched on Tuesday
Chicago White Sox infielder/outfielder Brooks Baldwin (back) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Baldwin has been pulled out of the lineup due to lower back tightness. It's a shame because Baldwin has been hitting well lately with a five-game hitting streak coming into this contest. For now, Baldwin should be considered day-to-day with a minor back issue. Austin Slater will take over left field and bat eighth versus right-hander Chris Bassitt on Tuesday.

Wed Mar 2622:03Brooks Baldwin, Travis Jankowski, Nick Maton Make Opening Day Roster
Chicago White Sox middle infielder Brooks Baldwin, outfielder Travis Jankowski and second baseman Nick Maton have all made the Opening Day roster. Prospect Colson Montgomery and Chase Meidroth will start in the minors, so the White Sox plan on mixing and matching at shortstop to begin the season. Jacob Amaya is probably the favorite for most of the playing time at the 6, but the 24-year-old Baldwin should serve in a utility infield role. He hit just .211 with two homers, eight RBI and four steals in 33 games in his major-league debut in 2024. Jankowski, 33, latched on with the Pale Hose after being cut by the Cubs in spring training. With Mike Tauchman (hamstring) starting on the injured list, he could see some starts in the outfield against right-handers, but Jankowski has little fantasy upside. Maton, 28, had a strong spring and will serve as middle-infield depth to begin the 2025 campaign.

Thu Feb 616:25Brooks Baldwin An Option At Shortstop For White Sox
In addition to prospect Colson Montgomery, Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz mentioned Brooks Baldwin, Chase Meidroth and Josh Rojas as options to play shortstop in 2025. Baldwin made his big-league debut in 2024 for the Pale Hose and went 24-for-114 (.211) with two homers, eight RBI and four steals in only 33 games. The 24-year-old also has plenty of experience at second base and could be used in the outfield in a pinch. Rojas has played 44 career games at the 6, 282 at third base and 150 at the keystone. Baldwin hit .330 with eight homers and 17 steals in 82 games at Double-A and Triple-A last year before being called up to Chicago. In addition to suffering a wrist injury, he looked overmatched at the plate in his first taste of the Show. He could open the year as the team's starting shortstop, but he'd just be keeping the spot warm for Montgomery.

Wed Sep 4 202418:43Brooks Baldwin Hits 10-Day Injured List
Chicago White Sox second baseman/shortstop Brooks Baldwin (wrist) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right wrist sprain. In a corresponding move, the White Sox recalled infielder Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte. The 24-year-old came off the bench on Tuesday evening after sitting out the previous seven games but will now sit out for at least the next ten days. Since joining the major leagues in mid-July, Baldwin has posted a mere .211 AVG with only eight extra-base hits. Fantasy managers should expect Lenyn Sosa and Nicky Lopez to serve as the everyday second baseman and shortstop on the Southside down the stretch. Both Sosa and Lopez have been unable to produce consistently this summer and are not worth adding in standard leagues.

Tue Aug 13 202409:45Brooks Baldwin Shows Off Power
Chicago White Sox second baseman Brooks Baldwin hit his second career homer in Monday's 12-2 win over the New York Yankees, his only hit in four plate appearances. Baldwin's blast was a three-run shot in the bottom of the seventh off Enyel De Los Santos, giving the White Sox an 11-2 lead at the time. He is hitting .213/.244/.347 with eight RBI, and seven runs scored in 21 games. Baldwin is 2-for-2 in stolen bases and does offer speed potential in deeper fantasy leagues. He will draw interest in AL-only formats but only for those fantasy managers seeking to fill a middle infield spot with a warm body.

Wed Jul 31 202417:30Brooks Baldwin Struggling Through First Taste Of The Majors
Chicago White Sox second base/shortstop prospect Brooks Baldwin has struggled through his first taste of the big leagues. Across his first 12 games, the former 12th-round selection sits with a .175/.215/.275 slash line. He has hit four doubles and swiped two bags but has yet to go deep. The infielder progressed through the Chicago pipeline fairly quickly as he opened the season by making his Double-A debut and then reached Triple-A in early July. He needed only eight games at the top level of the minor leagues to prove he was ready for a promotion, as he posted a stellar .345/.441/.655 line. Even though Baldwin has struggled to get settled, he is still worth holding onto in deeper leagues as he has been penciled into the starting nine every day.
