Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the team will re-evaluate Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider (hamstring) on Sunday to determine whether he will require another rehab start before activation. The 26-year-old has been sidelined for the last three and a half weeks as he recovers from a hamstring strain. Strider got a late start this season while working back from an internal brace procedure on his elbow from last year. He made just one appearance at the big league level -- tossing five innings of two-run ball in a loss against the Blue Jays -- before finding himself back on the injured list. Fortunately, it sounds like he could be back with the team within the next two weeks. Fantasy managers should exhibit no caution when slotting him into their lineups upon his return.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham (illness) remains out of the starting nine on Saturday. Pham was a late scratch on Friday due to an illness and was unable to progress enough to return on Saturday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Sunday's game. This afternoon, Alexander Canario will get the starting nod in left field and is slated to bat in the eight-hole. Through his first 32 games of the season, Pham has held a low .183/.259/.221 slash line with three stolen bases. He has yet to go deep. Under the hood, the 37-year-old has placed in the third percentile in xwOBA and the sixth percentile in xBA. Canario hit a home run during Friday's contest, but is best to fade in DFS this afternoon, facing Atlanta right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver.

The Cincinnati Reds have placed outfielder Jake Fraley (calf) on the 10-day injured list retroactive to May 7. In a corresponding move, outfielder/first baseman Connor Joe joined the active roster. Fraley has been dealing with a lingering calf injury over the past week. He was expected to return on Friday but was a late scratch to the starting nine. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as Fraley will likely not be sidelined for an extended period. Through his first 31 games of the season, Fraley has struggled at the plate, holding a .205/.319/.359 slash line with three doubles and three home runs. Under the hood, the 29-year-old has generated a low .232 xBA and a .359 xSLG. While he remains sidelined, Rece Hinds, Will Benson, and Connor Joe should cover right field.

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera and outfielder Jordan Walker are not in the starting lineup on Saturday when they continue a series against the Washington Nationals. Herrera returned from the injured list on Friday and went 1-for-4 with two RBI. However, he will get the day off, which will open a spot in the lineup for Pedro Pages to be behind the dish. Walker has started each of the previous three contests but has tallied just one hit and held a 5:2 K:BB over this stretch. Instead, Lars Nootbaar will shift to right field, which opens left field for Brendan Donovan. Fantasy managers should expect both Herrera and Walker to return to the lineup on Sunday. The Cardinals are worth targeting in DFS facing Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams, who has held a modest 5.86 ERA this season.

Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell is not in the starting lineup on Saturday when they continue a series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Bell was dealing with a groin injury earlier in the week. He was able to start on Friday but went 0-for-3 at the plate with a strikeout. As a result, James Wood will shift to the DH spot, which opens left field for Alex Call. The veteran first baseman has had a slow start to the campaign. Through his first 32 contests, Bell has posted a modest .130/.219/.278 slash line with five home runs. Under the hood, the switch-hitter has generated a low .285 xwOBA and a .204 xBA, which are both well below the average marks. This afternoon, the Nationals are worth a look in DFS, facing St. Louis right-hander Andre Pallante, who enters this game holding a 4.75 ERA.

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman/catcher Endy Rodriguez (finger) has shed his cast and has been cleared to begin playing catch. Rodriguez has been recovering from a laceration on his right index finger since April. It appears the 24-year-old has progressed well and can begin ramping up his baseball activity. Through his first 15 games of the campaign, Rodriguez held a .178/.260/.244 slash line with three doubles, two RBI, and a 12:5 K:BB. Under the hood, he generated a solid 45.5% hard-hit rate and was able to draw walks at a 10.0% rate. If he continues to progress well, Rodriguez could be cleared to embark on a rehab assignment before the end of the month. When he is cleared to return to Pittsburgh, fantasy managers should expect Rodriguez to compete for time at first base and as the No. 2 backstop behind Joey Bart.

The Cincinnati Reds could place outfielder Jake Fraley (calf) on the 10-day injured list. Fraley was held out of action earlier in the week but was slated to return to the lineup on Friday. While he remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Will Benson, Rece Hinds, or the newly-acquired Connor Joe to cover right field.

Although he picked up the loss in a 2-1 game in Friday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park, Texas Rangers left-hander Patrick Corbin continued to pitch well by giving up just two runs on three hits while walking four and striking out three in seven innings for a quality start. Corbin has been excellent in his last five starts, giving up no more than two runs in any of his starts while posting a 2.60 ERA and striking out 20 with 10 walks in 27 2/3 innings. The 35-year-old was outdueled by last year's American League Cy Young winner, Tarik Skubal, who had a perfect game going into the sixth frame. Although Corbin has been pitching well, Friday was only the first time he's gone seven innings, and it was his first quality start of the season. Overall, he has a 3.15 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 20:12 K:BB in 31 2/3 frames. Corbin's lack of swing-and-miss stuff makes him volatile on a start-to-start basis.

New York Mets left-hander Sean Manaea (oblique) is up to throwing from 120 feet on flat ground and is set to play catch off the mound next, according to NorthJersey.com's Andrew Tredinnick. A strained right oblique has kept Manaea away from the big-league team so far in 2025, and he needed a platelet-rich plasma injection before restarting his throwing program in the middle of April. Now that the 33-year-old southpaw is getting close to throwing off a mound, he could be close to facing live hitters as he continues to build up his arm. Still, in a best-case scenario, Manaea most likely won't make his season debut until sometime in June, so fantasy managers stashing him must remain patient. A mechanical adjustment helped the former first-rounder have a career resurgence in his first year with the Mets in 2024, as he went 12-6 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 184 K's and 63 walks in 32 regular-season starts.

Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Enrique Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored in Friday's 14-11 win over the Diamondbacks. The veteran'sbatting average may not show it as it sits at .215, but he's been somewhat productive in the lineup, now with six homeruns on the year with 15 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 87 plate appearances, leading to a .317 wOBA and 102 wRC+. He is not a preferred option for fantasy without regular at-bats, though, despitebeing eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, and OF on Yahoo!. If the 33-year-old found regular ABs, then he would be in consideration for a roster spot, as he's clearly still got some pop in his bat, although a career high 13.8 percentbarrel rate is sure to regress, but for now, he is a just a cheap DFS option unless you play in an NL-only league.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 1-for-5 with a grand slam and an RBI groundout in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Gurriel hit an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the Dodgers' lead to 8-4. In his next at-bat, the 31-year-old belted a grand slam off Dodgers pitcher Anthony Banda in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game 8-8. His home run traveled 401 feet with an exit velocity of 105.9 mph. He has now collected a hit in six of his last nine games and is hitting .306 (11-for-36) with three home runs and 10 RBI in May. Overall, Gurriel is slashing .213/.238/.418 with seven home runs, 25 RBI, 14 runs, and a stolen base across 151 plate appearances. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Gurriel while he's swinging a hot bat as he looks to build on Friday's performance in this weekend's series against Los Angeles.

Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Kevin Ginkel had an atrocious outing on Friday, allowing five runs (all earned), blowing the save, and taking the loss in a 14-11 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ginkel was summoned with a three-run lead in the ninth, and proceeded to get only one out while giving up four hits and hitting a batter before being pulled. Shohei Ohtani then hit a three-run homer to add a few more earned runs to Ginkel's line. The disastrous affair brings Ginkel's ERA to 15.43 and his WHIP to 2.57. Even though Arizona's bullpen is depleted right now, it seems unlikely that Ginkel will get another chance to close out games, at least for a while. Shelby Miller will likely see the bulk of the opportunities, and he is worth a look in leagues where saves are scarce.

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen had a fantastic outing on Friday, shutting out the Boston Red Sox for seven innings in a tough-luck no-decision. The Royals ended up winning the game 2-1, but it took until the 11th inning for either team to score a run. Lorenzen played his part, allowing just three hits, walking none, and punching out seven in his best outing of the season. The 33-year-old now sits at a 3-3 record, 3.57 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts in 45 IP. Lorenzen is a serviceable pitcher, but is certainly not a must-roster one. He should be used for streaming purposes when the matchup is right. His next start is next Wednesday in Houston, which is a matchup to avoid.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte did all he could for his team on Friday, going 2-for-3 with two homers and two walks in a 14-11 loss to the New York Yankees. Marte cracked a pair of solo homers and also scored on Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s grand slam. The 31-year-old has put together strong numbers in an injury-shortened start to his season, hitting .292 with 11 runs, three homers, and four RBI in 48 at-bats. When healthy, Marte is one of the best-hitting second basemen in the game. He should remain a fantasy standout throughout the season.

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3-for-5 with a home run in his team's 7-2 victory against the Chicago Cubs. The superstar switch-hitter singled and scored twice, adding his fifth stolen base of the campaign. Lindor started the scoring for New York with a 388-foot shot off Cubs pitcher Jameson Taillon to lead off the bottom of the first inning. The long ball was his eighth, and second in his last four outings, as he continues to enjoy a fantastic start to 2025. He's up to a .297 average to go along with seven doubles, 26 runs scored, and 25 RBI. If the former first-round pick is set to take off in the summer months as he usually does, he could be in store for a monster season. Friday marked his second straight multi-hit effort and third in his last five.

The San Diego Padres have traded outfielder/first baseman Connor Joe to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. In exchange, the Padres will receive right-hander Andrew Moore and cash considerations. The 32-year-old outfielder was hitless in nine plate appearances before getting traded. Joe doesn't have great career stats, but is someone who could be a contributor off the bench. The Reds are in need of some depth with Jake Fraley (calf) and Tyler Callihan (forearm) both injured right now. The move to Cincinnati should hopefully give Joe more playing time, but he's still unlikely to be a viable fantasy option.

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Evan Phillips (elbow) was recently placed on the 15-day injured list due to forearm discomfort. An MRI revealed that Phillips is dealing with elbow inflammation, so he'll likely be sidelined longer than expected. For now, Phillips will be shut down for the next two weeks before hopefully beginning a throwing program. That being said, Phillips might not be back on the mound until some point in June. Before going down, Phillips threw 5.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and one save in seven appearances. There should be a better timetable on him in a few weeks.

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle) is still dealing with some discomfort in his ankle when doing straight-line running, according to The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya. Edman is scheduled for live at-bats next week. The Dodgers placed the 30-year-old on the 10-day injured list on April 30 with an injured right ankle. He's already eligible to return from the IL, but he won't be able to rejoin the big-league club for the rest of their weekend series in Arizona against the division-rival Diamondbacks. Before his injury, the versatile switch-hitter was batting .252/.295/.523 with an .818 OPS, eight home runs, 24 RBI, 19 runs scored and two stolen bases in 111 at-bats. Edman is on pace for a career-high in homers and he should continue to be productive in runs and RBI when he returns to L.A. Hyeseong Kim and Miguel Rojas should continue sharing second base duties while Edman is out.

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta (groin), who tweaked his groin at the end of his last start against the Chicago Cubs on May 4, threw a bullpen session on Friday and didn't report any problems, according to manager Pat Murphy. Peralta is now scheduled to start on Monday against the Guardians again in Cleveland. Right-hander Chad Patrick will slide up a day to start Sunday's series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 28-year-old still managed six shutout innings with one walk and seven strikeouts in his last outing against the Cubs to secure his fourth win of the season. Peralta has been magnificent for fantasy baseball managers in his first eight starts of 2025, going 4-2 with a 2.18 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with 48 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings. The Dominican will be going up against a Guardians offense that is middle of the pack in terms of team OPS (.697).

Los Angeles Angels outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (groin) was scratched from Friday's starting lineup against the visiting Baltimore Orioles at Angel Stadium with groin tightness, according to The Athletic's Sam Blum. With Soler hurting, Jo Adell will start in right field and bat eighth against Orioles right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano. It's unclear if Soler's injury is serious enough to land him on the 10-day injured list, but fantasy managers will want to check back on Saturday to see if he's available for Game 2 of the series against Baltimore. The 33-year-old right-handed slugger has gone 5-for-27 (.185) with a homer, double, five RBI and two runs in seven games so far in the month of May. The Cuban outfielder has performed pretty much as expected through his first 130 at-bats with a low average .231 and modest power production (six homers, 16 RBI) in his first year with the Halos.
