Wed May 7 | 15:16 | Kyle Farmer Out For Rockies On Wednesday |
Colorado Rockies infielder Kyle Farmer is not in the team's starting lineup for Thursday's contest against the visiting Detroit Tigers at Coors Field. Adael Amador will make the start at the keystone for Colorado and will hit eighth against Tigers rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe. Farmer has been the team's primary second baseman early in the 2025 season. The 34-year-old veteran hasn't been much of a fantasy contributor, though, even in deep leagues, as he enters Wednesday's action with just a .240 average (23-for-96) with no home runs, seven RBI and two runs scored in 29 games in his first year in Colorado. Amador, 22, will be playing in just his 26th MLB game. In 15 games so far this year, he's struggled by going 7-for-39 (.179) with a homer and three RBI. He has never faced Jobe in his career and will be a low-upside DFS sleeper on Wednesday. |

Wed Apr 23 | 14:47 | Jacob Stallings, Kyle Farmer Sitting On Wednesday |
Colorado Rockies catcher Jacob Stallings and shortstop Kyle Farmer are not in the starting nine on Wednesday evening when they continue a series against the Kansas City Royals. Stallings has started in each of the previous two games and gone 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI. Instead, Hunter Goodman will move behind the dish, which will open the DH spot for Nick Martini. Farmer has been an everyday option for the Rockies through the early part of the campaign. Through 21 games, Farmer has posted a strong .284/.319/.418 slash line with nine doubles. However, this evening, Aaron Schunk will cover shortstop, and Adael Amador will cover the keystone. Both Stallings and Farmer will likely return to the starting nine on Thursday. The Rockies are worth targeting in DFS this evening as they will face Kansas City right-hander ... [ More] |

Fri Nov 22 2024 | 23:36 | Kyle Farmer Agrees With Rockies On One-Year Deal |
Free-agent shortstop Kyle Farmer agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday with the Colorado Rockies. The deal includes an option for the 2026 season. Farmer became a free agent this offseason when the Minnesota Twins declined his mutual option for the 2025 season on Halloween, but the 34-year-old infielder didn't last on the open market for long. He'll head to the National League West after the Rockies just non-tendered second baseman Brendan Rodgers. Farmer was forced into action with Carlos Correa battling injuries again in 2024, and he played in over 100 games for the fourth straight season, slashing .214/.293/.353 with five home runs, 25 RBI, three steals and 26 runs scored in 107 games. Farmer had double-digit homers in three previous seasons and could be an interesting infielder in NL-only leagues in a utility role with his move to hitter-friendly Coors Field. |

Fri Nov 1 2024 | 09:22 | Manuel Margot, Kyle Farmer Headed To Free Agency |
Minnesota Twins outfielder Manuel Margot and infielder Kyle Farmer had their 2025 club options declined and will head to free agency according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Margot held a .238/.289/.337 line with four home runs and five stolen bases across 129 games last season. Farmer posted a similar .214/.293/.353 slash line with five home runs and three swiped bags in 107 games of action in 2024. Margot logged most of his starts in center field while Farmer was deployed all over the infield. Both batters will likely be viewed as reserve options during free agency and should not be on your fantasy radar heading into 2025. |

Thu Mar 28 2024 | 12:52 | Kyle Farmer Starting At Second On Opening Day |
Minnesota Twins infielder Kyle Farmer, not Edouard Julien, is starting at second base and batting seventh on Opening Day on Thursday with the team facing left-hander Cole Ragans and the Kansas City Royals. In addition to Julien starting on the bench, which was common last year against lefties, too, Alex Kirilloff and Matt Waller will also grab pine on Opening Day. Farmer hit .290/.352/.430 against left-handers last year in 128 plate appearances, but it came with only two home runs and 16 RBI. In total in 120 games in his first year in Minnesota last year, Farmer slashed .256/.317/.408 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI in 369 trips to the plate. He'll be a low-upside DFS sleeper in fantasy lineups to kick the 2024 season off. |

Mon May 8 2023 | 09:32 | Kyle Farmer Can Return This Week |
Minnesota Twins infielder Kyle Farmer (jaw) will undergo another dental procedure on Monday, and then the club will evaluate him and decide if he's ready to return. If everything goes according to plan, then the 32-year-old should be back on the field for the next home stand, which begins on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Farmer landed on the injured list in early April after he was hit in the face by a pitch that damaged his jaw and required surgery. Before going on the shelf, he was batting .226 with one home run, six runs, and five RBI across 11 games. Farmer isn't much of a fantasy standout and is droppable in every format. |

Wed Apr 12 2023 | 17:33 | Kyle Farmer Needs Surgery, Doesn't Have Fractured Jaw |
Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that infielder Kyle Farmer (jaw) will have a procedure "to realign his teeth and fix a major laceration of the lower jaw" after he was hit by a pitch in the face against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Farmer went 0-for-1 in the game with a strikeout before departing, and he'll likely be placed on the injured list. The 32-year-old had started the last three games with Carlos Correa battling back spasms, but Correa is expected to return to the starting lineup on Thursday against the New York Yankees. Farmer entered Wednesday's game hitting .233 (7-for-30) with a double, home run, five RBI and six runs scored in his first 10 games of the season. |

Minnesota Twins infielder Kyle Farmer exited Wednesday's game after being hit in the head by a pitch from White Sox starter Lucas Giolito. Farmer struck out in his first plate appearance before exiting in his second and is now hitting just .226 with one home run and a .641 OPS across 11 games to this point. Fri Nov 18 2022 | 20:18 | Kyle Farmer Sent From Reds To Twins |
Kyle Farmer is the newest member of the Minnesota Twins after being acquired in a trade from the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds will receive minor league right-handed pitcher Casey Legumina in exchange for Farmer. The 32-year-old Farmer enjoyed arguably his best year at the plate in 2022, recording a .701 OPS with 14 home runs in 583 plate appearances, though that only resulted in a 91 wRC+. Farmer figures to be a depth piece and fill some of the playing time vacated by the earlier trade of Gio Urshela to the Los Angeles Angels, but fantasy managers should not look to invest in the righty swinger. |

Tue Aug 9 2022 | 16:38 | Kyle Farmer Returns Against Mets |
Cincinnati Reds infielder Kyle Farmer (neck) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against New York Mets right-hander Carlos Carrasco, starting at third base and hitting third in the batting order. Farmer was out of action on Monday with a sore neck, but he'll be back in the lineup a day later and will shift to the hot corner with Mike Moustakas (calf) sitting after getting injured on Monday. The 31-year-old is hitting a modest .248/.324/.366 with six home runs, 51 RBI, 39 runs scored and four stolen bases in 322 at-bats for the Reds in 2022. Mon Aug 8 2022 | 18:37 | Kyle Farmer Scratched On Monday |
Cincinnati Reds infielder Kyle Farmer (neck) has been scratched from the starting lineup for Monday's game against the New York Mets. The 31-year-old is dealing with neck stiffness, so he'll get the night off. This doesn't sound like something that is going to force Farmer to the injured list. Fantasy managers should assume he's day-to-day until the team says any different. Mike Moustakas will cover third base and bat third against right-hander Chris Bassitt on Monday. Fantasy managers can look elsewhere for a streaming option for Monday. |

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Kyle Farmer (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. He has been dealing with some soreness lately, but has played in three straight games. This appears to be a routine day off, so fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned. Matt Reynolds will bat ninth and play shortstop versus right-hander Alek Manoah. Fantasy managers can find a better streaming option than Reynolds for Saturday's contest. |

The 31-year-old had the best season of his career this year. Over 147 games, he slashed .263/.316/.416 with 16 home runs, 63 RBI and 60 runs. Farmer should now take back over as the team's primary shortstop going forward. It's been a bit of a breakout year for the 31-year-old, who is slashing .254/.308/.397 with 13 home runs, 53 RBI and 51 runs over 132 games. |
