Sugano will make his MLB debut in 2025 after the Orioles signed the Japanese hurler to a one-year, $13 million contract in December. The 35-year-old veteran doesn't come with as much fanfare as Dodgers rookie Roki Sasaki, but he should nevertheless begin the year in Baltimore's starting rotation. Sugano features a diverse arsenal of six pitches and has pinpoint control, but he's near the end of his career at this point and had a weak 18.3 percent strikeout rate with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan.
