Mon Mar 2419:39Landen Roupp Wins Fifth Starter Spot
San Francisco Giants pitcher Landen Roupp has earned the fifth spot in the starting rotation to begin the season. It was down to Roupp or Hayden Birdsong, but manager Bob Melvin confirmed on Monday that Roupp will get the final spot in the rotation. Roupp has been extremely impressive this season and is well deserving of this chance. Last season, Roupp posted a 3.58 ERA, 1,37 WHIP, and 47/26 K/BB ratio across 23 games (four starts) with the Giants. He's someone that should have fantasy value right away in most formats, assuming he's able to adjust to being a full-time starter. Birdsong will see his fantasy value take a hit with the shift to the bullpen.

Thu Feb 2016:40Landen Roupp To Start Cactus League Opener On Saturday
San Francisco Giants right-hander Landen Roupp will start the team's Cactus League opener on Saturday against the Texas Rangers and will likely throw two innings. Roupp will kick things off for the Giants this weekend after making his major-league debut in 2024 and going 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA (3.42 FIP), a 1.37 WHIP and 47:26 K:BB in 50 1/3 innings over his first 23 appearances (four starts). The former 12th-rounder in 2021 out of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington struggled in relief early on last year after surprisingly making the Opening Day roster, but he looked much better later in the year in a closing role, albeit in a small sample size. The 26-year-old relies on a sinker-curveball mix to generate ground balls. It's unlikely that he'll make the club's Opening Day starting rotation, but Roupp could be an interesting and cheap deep-league DFS streamer if he gets starts again at some point.

Tue Sep 10 202412:37Landen Roupp Making First Big-League Start On Tuesday
San Francisco Giants rookie right-hander Landen Roupp will toe the rubber for his first major-league start on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. Roupp has made 19 appearances out of the bullpen for the Giants in his first season in the majors in 2024 and has pitched to a 3.41 ERA (3.40 FIP) with a 1.36 WHIP, 33 strikeouts and 19 walks in 31 2/3 innings pitched. The 26-year-old went a season-high four innings out of the bullpen his last time out on Sept. 5 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing no runs while walking two and striking out five. Roupp hasn't gone more than four innings in any of his outings with San Fran or at Triple-A Sacramento before his call-up, so fantasy managers should be looking to avoid the rookie as a streamer on Tuesday, especially against the first-place Brew Crew.
