Mon Apr 1412:25Adam Mazur Strikes Out Five In Latest Outing
Miami Marlins pitching prospect Adam Mazur continued his strong start to the campaign on Sunday afternoon. In this outing, Mazur logged four 1/3 shutout innings. He struck out five batters and allowed just two hits. Since allowing two runs in his first start of the season, Mazur has logged nine 1/3 shutout frames. During these two starts, he has struck out 10 batters and allowed just five hits and one walk. This is a great sign for Mazur as he struggled to find much success at the Triple-A level last summer. Across 61 innings split between El Paso and Jacksonville, Mazur held a high 6.20 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP. During this stint, he struck out just 60 batters. He also received a brief taste of the majors last season, but posted a 7.49 ERA. He should be in the mix to join the Miami rotation later this season.

Sat Mar 819:14Adam Mazur To Begin Season With Triple-A
Miami Marlins right-handed pitching prospect Adam Mazur was sent to Triple-A Jacksonville. The former second-round selection was competing for a spot in the starting rotation, but instead the team will opt to have him continue his development in the minor leagues. Last season, Mazur was dealt to the Marlins at the trade deadline in a package that sent Tanner Scott to San Diego. During his first 33 2/3 innings in the major leagues, Mazur posted a hefty 7.49 ERA with a 1.81 WHIP. He tallied just 22 punchouts and served up 21 free passes. Last summer in Triple-A, Mazuer logged 61 cumulative innings and posted a 6.20 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP. However, he showed elite command, serving up just 13 walks and tallied 60 punchouts. He should contend for an early return to the majors if he performs well with Triple-A.

Tue Jul 30 202417:04Adam Mazur Sent To The Marlins
The Miami Marlins acquired right-handed pitching prospect Adam Mazur from the San Diego Padres on Tuesday in part of the package that sent left-handed closer Tanner Scott to the Friars. In addition to Mazur, the Fish landed pitcher Robby Snelling, infielder Graham Pauley and second baseman Jay Beshears. Mazur checked in as SD's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and made his first eight major-league starts this year before the trade. The former second-round pick in 2022 out of Iowa has struggled in his first taste of the big leagues, going 1-3 with a 7.49 ERA (6.22 FIP) and 1.81 WHIP with a 22:21 K:BB in 33 2/3 innings. The 23-year-old also got hit around in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League before his call-up. It remains to be seen if the Marlins will continue letting him face big-league pitchers the rest of this year, but Mazur could certainly benefit from some more development on the farm.

Fri Jul 26 202418:24Adam Mazur Recalled, Starting On Friday
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Adam Mazur has been recalled to take the ball against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. The 23-year-old was demoted a few weeks ago after struggling during a handful of starts with the Padres. Mazur holds an ugly 7.84 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, and 21/19 K/BB across seven starts in the big leagues. This is a tough assignment for Mazur given how strong the O's offense has been this season. Fantasy managers should look for a better streaming option ahead of Friday's game.

Thu Jul 11 202409:51Padres Demote Adam Mazur
After another poor performance on Tuesday, the San Diego Padres have demoted pitcher Adam Mazur to Triple-A El Paso. Mazur allowed five runs on Tuesday against a weak Seattle Mariners offense and it will remain to be seen if he will be back with the club following the upcoming All-Star break. The right-hander has pitched very well throughout his minor league career, but has looked overmatched in his debut season in the big leagues. Mazur has been up and down with the Padres this season, but his 7.84 ERA in seven starts is evidence that he needs more seasoning on the farm. For now, Mazur is only worth holding onto in dynasty leagues.
