Thu Apr 1700:46Jackson Holliday Launches Grand Slam
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday broke out of his slump with a grand slam in Wednesday's 9-1 victory over the Guardians. He had gone hitless in his previous five games entering the day, and the grand slam was only his third extra-base hit of 2025. He's now slashing .216/.231/.392 with two home runs, eight RBI, five runs, and a stolen base in 14 games this season. The top prospect is still clearly a work in progress, but he still has some of the highest upside in the game at only 21 years old. It's worth holding onto him in fantasy to wait for him to figure things out.

Tue Apr 1517:27Jackson Holliday Out Versus Southpaw
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday is getting a breather against a left-handed pitcher on Tuesday versus the visiting Cleveland Guardians at Camden Yards. Jorge Mateo will draw into the starting lineup at the keystone and will bat ninth against Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. The Orioles have protected Holliday from left-handed pitching this year as he continues to develop at the major-league level. The 21-year-old former top prospect has gotten off to a slow start offensively in his first full season in the big leagues, going 10-for-47 (.213) with a homer, double, triple, four RBI, one steal, four runs scored, one walk and 12 strikeouts in 13 games played. He will continue to play regularly at second in Baltimore, but the O's could continue to shield him from lefty starters. Mateo offers speed but will have little DFS upside in the nine-hole. He's still searching for his first hit this year.

Sat Apr 521:07Jackson Holliday Posts Three-Hit Performance
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday continued his hot stretch at the plate during Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals. It was a good day for Holliday who went 3-for-4 at the plate with two singles, a triple, and two RBI in the win. The 21-year-old finally appears to be putting it all together at the big league level. So far, he's 10-for-30 with one homer, four RBI, and one steal to begin the season. He's worth rostering in most standard 12-team formats right now.

Thu Mar 2714:00Jackson Holliday Batting Ninth On Opening Day
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday will get the starting nod at shortstop and bat ninth on Opening Day. He will face Toronto right-hander Jose Berrios. Holliday was considered the best prospect in baseball entering the 2024 campaign. After being drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, Holliday made his MLB debut last summer. However, across 60 games, the 21-year-old struggled as he posted a .189/.255/.311 slash line with five home runs and four stolen bases. He generated a modest .258 xwOBA but flashed elite speed as he placed in the 95th percentile in sprint speed. At the Triple-A level, Holliday posted a strong .271/.431/.477 slash line with 25 doubles and 10 home runs across 73 games. With Gunnar Henderson (side) on the injured list, fantasy managers should expect Holliday to be deployed as the everyday shortstop during the early part of the campaign. Given his struggles last season, he is best left on your bench in this contest.

Tue Mar 1808:34Jackson Holliday Showing Consistency In Grapefruit League
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday has posted a strong .314/.385/.486 line through 12 contests in the Grapefruit League. His 11 total hits are the fourth-most by an Oriole in camp. This is a great sign for Holliday, as the former top prospect struggled to adjust to the major leagues last season. The 21-year-old posted an underwhelming .189/.235/.311 line across his first 60 MLB contests. During this stretch, Holliday hit just four doubles with five home runs. He generated a strong 45.1 percent hard-hit rate but held a high 33.2 percent strikeout rate. Through 91 contests at the Triple-A level, the former No. 1 overall pick posted a .270/.423/.460 slash line with 29 doubles and 12 long balls. Fantasy managers should expect Holliday to break camp as the starting second baseman in Baltimore.

Fri Mar 718:10Jackson Holliday To Get Some Reps At Shortstop
With Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson (intercostal) up in the air to be ready for Opening Day in late March, manager Brandon Hyde said that second baseman Jackson Holliday will be getting some repetitions at shortstop in camp. Jordan Westburg could also get some looks at the 6 as the O's start to think about contingency plans in case Henderson opens the year on the injured list. The 21-year-old Holliday came up through the minors as a shortstop as Baltimore's top prospect before making his major-league debut at the keystone last year with Henderson entrenched at shortstop. Westburg also has experience at the position, although the Orioles are probably more inclined to keep him at the hot corner. If Henderson opens the year on the IL, the most likely scenario will be Holliday at short and veteran Ramon Urias being inserted into the lineup at second base.

Sun Mar 217:05Jackson Holliday Wants To Steal 20 Bases
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday plans to be busy on the basepaths this upcoming season. The young slugger said he'd like to steal 20 bases or more during the 2025 season. He knows he'll need to dial back his aggressiveness, but plans to keep stealing until the team tells him otherwise. Holliday stole four bases during his 60 games with the O's last season. However, Holliday stole 24 bases during his 2023 season in the minor leagues. He'll need to pick his spots right, but Holliday could very well could a legitimate threat on the basepath this upcoming season.

Wed Feb 514:41Jackson Holliday Wants To Run More
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday is looking to bounce back after struggling in his first year in the big leagues in 2024, and he's specifically focused on stealing more bases in 2025. Over 60 games in Baltimore, he hit just .189 with five homers, four doubles, 23 RBI and a .565 OPS while striking out 69 times in 208 plate appearances. "I'm definitely as strong as I've ever been," Holliday said. "Been doing running stuff ... trying to make that a priority, to be able to steal bases and really impact the game in multiple different ways." The 21-year-old will need to improve at the plate and get on base more often to utilize his 95th percentile sprint speed. He'll also need to perform well enough to hold off Jorge Mateo, Ramon Urias and Jordan Westburg for playing time at the keystone. Holliday's future is bright, but he ranks as RotoBaller's No. 22 fantasy second baseman entering his sophomore year.

Tue Oct 1 202412:50Jackson Holliday Not In Game 1 Lineup
Baltimore Orioles rookie infielder Jackson Holliday is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the wild-card series on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals at Camden Yards with a lefty on the mound. Jordan Westburg is starting at the keystone and is hitting second, while Ramon Urias will play third base and hit seventh against Royals left-hander Cole Ragans. While Holliday has a bright future, the O's are going to shield him from facing southpaws in the postseason, and for good reason. The 20-year-old former first overall pick in 2022 had his moments in his rookie season in 2024, but he finished by hitting just .189/.255/.311 with a .565 OPS, five home runs, 23 RBI, four steals and 69 strikeouts in 208 plate appearances and 60 games. He went 4-for-40 (.100) with one of his five home runs and 16 strikeouts in 46 plate appearances against lefties. Holliday finished off September with a .218 average, no homers, three RBI and 17 K's in 21 games.

Sat Sep 14 202416:51Jackson Holliday Sitting On Saturday
Baltimore Orioles second baseman/shortstop Jackson Holliday will take a seat on Saturday afternoon. The former No.1 prospect in baseball started at the keystone over the past three games. During this stretch, he has tallied only one hit while striking out five times. As a result, Livan Soto will cover second base on Saturday and bat in the eight-hole. While Holliday has struggled throughout his first professional season, he has begun to find stable playing time, which is a good sign for his fantasy stock going forward. Through his first 50 major league games, Holliday sits with a .171/.224/.300 slash line. Soto is best to leave out of your DFS lineup as he has yet to tally a hit this month.

Sat Aug 24 202418:58Jackson Holliday Records Pinch-Hit, Three-Run Double To Give Baltimore The Win
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday hit a pinch-hit, three run double in the sixth inning during the Orioles 3-2 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday. The three-run double ended up being a game-winning hit for the rookie who now has a .572 OPS on the season. While Holliday's rookie season has not gone the way he would have liked it, this result in a high-stress scenario is a great sign for the 20-year-old. Saturday marked just the second game in August that Holliday has not been in the Orioles lineup, likely a combo of giving the rookie rest and avoiding a left-on-left matchup against Astros starter Framber Valdez. With the Astros starting left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on Sunday, there is a chance Holliday may be held out of the lineup until Monday when the Orioles travel to LA and face off against struggling Dodgers' starter Walker Buehler.

Sat Aug 24 202415:12Jackson Holliday Taking A Seat On Saturday
Baltimore Orioles rookie infielder Jackson Holliday will take a seat on Saturday afternoon as the Orioles continue a four-game set against the Houston Astros. The top prospect has not tallied a hit in his past six games and will get a much-needed break to get himself back on track. Prior to the slump, the former first-overall selection was riding a stellar .283/.328/.585 line with five home runs and 14 RBI in his past 16 games. Fantasy managers should expect Holliday to rejoin the starting nine on Sunday evening. As a result, Ramon Urias will cover the keystone and bat in the nine-hole today. Urias is not worth considering in DFS competitions as he will face Astros left-handed pitcher Framber Valdez who is carrying a dominant 1.27 ERA and a 0.56 WHIP in his past three games.

Sat Aug 17 202400:56Jackson Holliday Collects Four Hits, Three Runs
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday collected four hits with three runs in Friday night's loss to the visiting division-rival Boston Red Sox at Camden Yards. It was the first career four-hit effort for Holliday, who also notably ripped his first career triple off Red Sox right-hander Cooper Criswell to the right-field wall to bring the Orioles to within one run in the third inning on Friday against Boston. The 20-year-old top prospect has looked like a different player in his second stint in the major leagues, hitting a healthy .286 (16-for-56) with five home runs, 14 RBI, and 13 runs scored in his last 15 games.

Fri Aug 9 202416:00Jackson Holliday Moves Up In Batting Order
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday will start again at second base on Friday against the hosting division-rival Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Zack Littell and will move up to the six-hole. Since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk at the end of July, the top prospect in all of baseball has been delivering on his upside, going 9-for-28 with four home runs, a double and 11 RBI in eight games to earn a move up to the highest spot in the batting order he's held so far in his rookie season. The 20-year-old left-handed-hitting middle infielder is still only slashing .177/.239/.387 in his first 18 major-league games, but he's looked more comfortable at the place since being demoted to the minors earlier this year and is here to stay for the rest of the 2024 campaign. Holliday should already be rostered in all fantasy formats.

Thu Aug 8 202400:44Jackson Holliday Homers Wednesday Vs. Blue Jays
Baltimore Orioles second baseman and No.1 overall prospect in baseball Jackson Holliday homered in Wednesday's game as his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3. The homer was his only hit of the night as he finished 1-for-4 in Wednesday's victory. Holliday, who started his major league career 2-for-34, has been scorching hot recently. He is slashing .375/.444/.917 with four home runs and 10 RBI over his last seven games. Three of those homers have come against the Blue Jays, including his first career home run (grand slam) on July 31. He could be a nightmare for Jays fans for years to come. His fantasy stock is also rapidly rising for this season, and he is a must-start in all leagues while swinging a hot bat.

Sun Aug 4 202417:12Jackson Holliday Goes Deep Sunday
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday hit his second career home run in Sunday's win over the Guardians. The 20-year-old went 2-for-4 with a solo shot for his third straight two-hit game. Holliday has been much better in his second go-around with Baltimore as he has raised his average to .173 with two homers and eight RBI. He was 2-for-34 in an April call-up, so the recent results are very encouraging for the top overall prospect in baseball. Holliday has returned to the big leagues with renewed confidence and it is starting to show.

Wed Jul 31 202418:26Jackson Holliday Blasts Grand Slam
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday made a big splash in his return to the big leagues. The 20-year-old launched a fifth inning grand slam off reliever Yerry Rodriguez for his first career home run. It was Holliday's only hit of the game, but it was a big one as it helped the O's get the win. The top prospect is certainly going to have a learning curve at the big league level. However, Holliday has incredible upside as he's one of the most promising prospects in the game. He could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues, but Holliday probably won't make a huge impact this season.

Wed Jul 31 202411:47Jackson Holliday Batting Eighth In Return To Big Leagues
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday will bat eighth for the O's on Wednesday against Toronto. This will be his first MLB appearance since being demoted to Triple-A Bowie in late April. During his first stint in Baltimore, he went just 2-for-34 with 2:18 BB/SO and no extra-base hits. Since then, he's slashed .259/.421/.455 with 20 doubles, eight home runs, seven steals, and 63:69 BB/SO in Triple-A. Now back in the majors, Holliday will look to redeem himself and prove that he can compete at the big-league level. Despite his initial struggles, he still possesses elite offensive prowess. Holliday is currently the top prospect in all of baseball (per MLB.com).

Tue Jul 30 202420:39Jackson Holliday Set To Rejoin The Orioles
According to multiple sources, infield prospect Jackson Holliday is headed to the Baltimore Orioles from Triple-A Norfolk. It's why Holliday was scratched from Tuesday night's lineup with the Tides following the trade of second base prospect Connor Norby to the Miami Marlins in exchange for left-hander Trevor Rogers. Although Baltimore's acquisition of Rogers was seen as a pretty big overpay for a lefty arm with command issues, it also opened up a regular spot at second base at the big-league level for the top prospect in all of baseball. Holliday looked overmatched in his first taste of big-league pitching earlier this year and went 2-for-34 (.059) with 18 strikeouts in 10 games, but he has posted a .908 OPS with 10 homers, 38 RBI and eight steals in 73 games for Norfolk this year and needs to be rostered in all fantasy leagues if he isn't already.

Sat Jul 20 202409:30Jackson Holliday Goes Deep Twice On Friday
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Friday evening for Triple-A Norfolk. This was Holliday's first game playing in the field since being activated from the injured list on June 25. He was exclusively only serving as the designated hitter since then. The second baseman has posted a stellar .325/.491/.700 slash line with three home runs, seven RBI, two stolen bases, and a 13:9 BB:K through July after struggling in June. The former first overall pick is a name to keep a close eye on in redraft leagues, as he could return to the major leagues in the coming weeks once he proves he is ready to play the field on a daily basis.
