Wed Apr 23 | 23:44 | Allan Winans Strikes Out 10 On Wednesday At Triple-A |
New York Yankees minor-league pitcher Allan Winans fanned 10 of the first 11 batters he faced in Wednesday's start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The one batter he didn't strike out in that span drew a walk, and once he allowed a walk and a hit to the 12th and 13th batters, the righty was pulled from the game, finishing with the 10 Ks in three-and-two-thirds innings pitched. At 29 years old, he can hardly be considered a prospect anymore, but the 6-foot-2 hurler has just 40 major league innings to his name. Still, if the Yankees are looking for some help in the starting rotation, they could look to give Winans a shot. So far in his limited three-start sample in 2025, he has yet to allow an earned run on six hits and five walks while striking out 20 hitters in nine-and-a-third innings pitched. The strikeout potential is intriguing for fantasy, however, managers in most leagues would likely want to have him prove it in the majors before deciding to roster him, if he were to be called up at some point. |

Sat Feb 8 | 08:48 | Allan Winans Clears Waivers, Sent To Triple-A |
According to the team, New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Allan Winans has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A. However, the team did invite Winans to attend spring training as a non-roster invite. Winans has spent most of his professional career with the Atlanta Braves. Last summer, Winans logged just seven 2/3 innings and allowed 13 earned runs. During the 2023 campaign, Winans held a 5.29 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP across 32 1/3 innings of work. Winans has spent most of the past two seasons with Triple-A Gwinnett. Across 241 innings, the Campbell University product held a solid 3.06 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP. He struck out 213 batters and served up 67 free passes. Fantasy managers should expect Winans to serve as a depth pitching option in the New York system during the 2025 season. |

Thu Feb 6 | 08:25 | Allan Winans Designated For Assignment |
According to the team, the New York Yankees have designated right-handed pitcher Allan Winans for assignment. This transaction opened a roster spot for right-handed pitcher Owen White, who the team claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. The Yankees claimed Winans earlier in January, but he will now return to waivers. Last season, Winans logged seven 2/3 innings at the MLB level with the Atlanta Braves. He allowed 13 earned runs and tallied just four punchouts. Across 32 1/3 innings with Atlanta in 2023, Winans held a 5.29 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP. Across 114 2/3 innings with Triple-A Gwinnett last summer, the 29-year-old posted a 3.30 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect Winans to open the season at the Triple-A level, given his lack of MLB success. |

Thu Jan 23 | 14:32 | Yankees Claim Allan Winans Off Waivers From The Braves |
The New York Yankees claimed right-hander Allan Winans off waivers from the Atlanta Braves on Thursday, according to sources. The Braves designated Winans for assignment last week, and now he'll head to the American League East for the 2025 season. The 29-year-old former 17th-round pick by the New York Mets in 2018 out of Campbell University debuted in the big leagues with the Braves in 2023 and made six starts that year. He was hit around in his two starts in the majors in 2024 with Atlanta, allowing 14 runs (13 earned) on 14 hits (three homers) while walking four and striking out four in 7 2/3 innings. Because he still has minor-league options remaining, Winans will almost certainly start the 2025 season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he'll serve as organizational starting pitching depth for the Yanks. |

Tue Jul 23 2024 | 19:39 | Allan Winans To Start On Wednesday |
Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker confirmed that right-handed pitching prospect Allan Winans will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to make the start on Wednesday versus the visiting Cincinnati Reds. Winans is coming into his eighth major-league start on a roll after giving up just one run in 10 1/3 innings in his last two starts for Gwinnett. The 28-year-old former 17th-round pick by the New York Mets in 2018 out of Campbell University has gone 4-3 for the Stripers this year with a 2.74 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 75 K's and 22 walks in 82 innings over 15 outings (13 starts). In his lone appearance with the Braves this year on April 11 against the Mets, he gave up seven runs (six earned) while walking two and striking out only one in a loss over five innings. Winans had a 5.29 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in his first six big-league starts in 2023 and won't be a recommended streaming option against Cincy. |

Wed Apr 10 2024 | 14:20 | Allan Winans Getting The Start Wednesday |
Atlanta Braves right-hander Allan Winans will toe the rubber on Wednesday when the club takes on the visiting New York Mets. The 28-year-old was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday when the club placed ace Spencer Strider on the 15-day injured list with right elbow soreness. Wednesday marks Winans' 2024 big-league debut after he made one Triple-A start, allowing two earned runs on a pair of solo homers across 5 2/3 innings on April 2. Winans made six starts for the Braves in the 2023 season and posted a 5.29 ERA across 32 1/3 innings of work. However, his 4.09 FIP, 3.88 SIERA, and a strong 18.4% K-BB% in that time suggest he was much better than his surface ERA may indicate. |
