Mon Apr 1417:08Bryson Stott Hitting Leadoff On Monday
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott is at second base and is batting leadoff for Monday's series opener against the visiting San Francisco Giants and right-hander Landon Roupp at Citizens Bank Park. Stott has fared well against right-handed pitchers this year and will make his third straight start in the leadoff spot against a righty as a result. Overall, he's hitting a modest .250 (12-for-48) on the year with a homer, three doubles, six RBI, one stolen base, five runs scored, five walks and 14 strikeouts in 13 games played for the Phillies. Before his recent move to the top of the batting order, Stott had been in the eight-hole most days, so if this new lineup arrangement sticks, it will be a notable boost to his fantasy value. None of the Phillies hitters on Monday have faced Roupp in their careers.

Sun Apr 1313:15Bryson Stott, Max Kepler Out Against Lefty
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Max Kepler are not in the starting lineup on Sunday when they face St. Louis southpaw Matthew Liberatore. Stott has only made three starts against southpaws throughout the early part of the campaign. Over his previous four contests, Stott has posted a .250/.333/.313 line. Fantasy managers should expect the 27-year-old Stott to return to the starting nine on Monday when he faces San Francisco right-hander Landen Roupp. Kepler has only made two starts this season against left-handed pitching. As a result, Edmundo Sosa will cover the keystone, and Johan Rojas will take a spot in the outfield. The Phillies' offense is worth targeting in DFS this afternoon, facing Liberatore, who enters Sunday with a hefty 5.84 ERA.

Tue Feb 1113:00Bryson Stott Dealt With Elbow Injury Last Year
MLB.com's Todd Zolecki writes that Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott played through an injured elbow in 2024, which the team thinks hindered his swing at the plate. Stott hit .280/.329/.419 with 15 homers, 62 RBI and 31 stolen bases in 151 games in 2023 before slashing .245/.315/.356 with 11 homers, 57 RBI and 32 stolen bases in 148 games last season. If his elbow injury is a thing of the past in 2025, the 27-year-old middle infielder could be in for a bounce-back campaign offensively. Stott still made plenty of contact in 2024, but most of it was weak contact, which once again could have been related to his elbow injury. The good news is that even if Stott doesn't bounce back closer to his 2023 levels with the lumber, he should still be very useful in terms of his speed. RotoBaller has Stott ranked as the No. 14 fantasy second baseman.

Tue Oct 8 202416:40Bryson Stott, Brandon Marsh Out In Game 3 Versus Lefty
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh are both out of the Game 3 lineup on Tuesday in the National League Division Series at Citi Field with a left-hander on the mound for the New York Mets. Edmundo Sosa will make the start at the keystone and bat eighth, while Austin Hays makes the start in left field and will hit seventh against Mets left-hander Sean Manaea. Stott had a big role in the Game 2 win on Sunday, hitting a two-run triple, but he'll take a seat with a lefty starting. Sosa has gone 4-for-8 in his career against Manaea with a homer, triple, double, three RBI and two strikeouts, so he'll be an intriguing DFS sleeper for Tuesday's games. Hays has only faced Manaea three times, but he does have two hits (one homer) and an RBI against him.

Fri Jul 19 202416:02Bryson Stott, Brandon Marsh Sitting Versus Lefty
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielders Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas are all out of the starting lineup on Friday for the series opener against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates and veteran left-hander Martin Perez. Edmundo Sosa is starting at second base and batting sixth, Weston Wilson is in left field and hitting seventh, and Cristian Pache is in center field and is batting in the nine-hole for the Phillies. Stott, Marsh and Rojas will have to wait until Saturday to get back into the starting lineup for the first time in the second half of the season after this week's All-Star break. Sosa is the best DFS sleeper pick for Friday's action of the trio and is hitting .667 with a 1.667 OPS against Perez in his career, albeit in only three at-bats.

Fri Jul 12 202417:13Bryson Stott Resting Against A Southpaw
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott will get the day off on Friday against the visiting Oakland Athletics with left-hander Hogan Harris on the bump. Utility infielder Edmundo Sosa will make the start at second base and will bat sixth for the Phillies against Harris. Stott has hit .244 against both lefties and righties in 2024, but five of his six home runs on the year have come against righties. The 26-year-old second baseman has been a key piece of Philadelphia's stacked lineup this year, mostly for his speed. He's hitting .244 (72-for-295) with six homers, 41 RBI, 21 stolen bases and 44 runs scored. Sosa, while lacking a lot of power at the plate from the right side, could be worth a look as a DFS sleeper in Friday's matchup. He's gone 22-for-69 (.319) with two of his five homers against southpaws in 2024.

Thu May 16 202416:15Bryson Stott Out Against Lefty
Philadelphia Phillies middle infielder Bryson Stott and outfielder Johan Rojas will both retreat to the bench on Thursday against the visiting New York Mets. With Stott out, Whit Merrifield will make the start at second base and bat sixth against Mets left-hander Jose Quintana. Cristian Pache will play center field for the Phillies and bat out of the nine-hole. Despite hitting .294 (10-for-34) against southpaws this year, Stott will get the day off to rest. He's been hot to start the month of May while picking up offensively slack with Trea Turner (hamstring) out, as Stott has gone 14-for-34 (.412) with a homer, 12 RBI and five stolen bases since May 3. He should be back at second base on Friday for the start of a series against the visiting Washington Nationals. Merrifield has struggled to hit this year, batting .188 (15-for-80) with two homers, four RBI and four steals.

Tue May 14 202400:45Bryson Stott Powers Phillies Late-Inning Comeback Win Vs. Mets
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott brought the late-inning heroics in the Monday night 5-4 win by hitting a game-tying solo home run against New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz. Stott also included an infield single to make that three games in a row with a multi-hit effort. He is now sporting a .270 batting average with three home runs, 23 RBI, and 10 stolen bases over 36 games. In the past week, he's been doing it all for fantasy managers with 10 hits, nine runs batted in, and four stolen bases. Look for Stott to keep it rolling with three more games on tap against the Mets and three against the Nationals to cap off the week.

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh find themselves on the bench for Friday's contest against Miami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers. The 26-year-old is batting .254 (30-for-118) with six homers, 20 RBI, five steals and 13 runs this year. Merrifield is the more realistic DFS sleeper target on Friday. He's never faced Rogers in his career and is hitting .237 (14-for-59) on the year with two homers, four RBI and four stolen bases.

Mon Apr 29 202401:01Bryson Stott Smashes Pair Of Homers, Swipes Base
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott put the team on his back in an 8-6 win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday. Stott finished the day going 2-for-3 with two homers and a stolen base. He also scored three runs and drove in four. It was a blistering day at the dish for the 26-year-old, who sorely needed it after a tough start to the season. The homers were just his second and third of the season and the stolen base was his fourth. Stott has 20/20 upside that was on full display Sunday, so he should be held onto in most leagues.

Sat Apr 13 202414:01Bryson Stott, Brandon Marsh Resting Saturday
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh are not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marsh and Stott will sit against Pirates left-hander Marco Gonzales. Stott and Marsh should be available off the bench to pinch-hit in Saturday's contest. Cristian Pache replaces Marsh in left field and is batting eighth, while Edmundo Sosa is batting sixth and handling the keystone. Pache has appeared in three games and has yet to collect a hit over four plate appearances. Sosa is hitting a robust .750 (3-for-4) with a homer over three games. Pache can be avoided in all fantasy leagues, while Sosa can be used as a streamer in a plus matchup versus Gonzales for Saturday's slate.

Fri Apr 12 202409:23Bryson Stott Hits First Homer
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Thursday's victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates. His home run would be the first of the season. Stott is coming off a career year in 2023, but has struggled early on in 2024 with a .220 batting average and five RBI. The good news is that he has stolen two bases and the better news is that the season is very young. Stott hitting at the bottom of the order isn't ideal for managers, but he is in a good Phillies lineup and shouldn't have a problem scoring runs or knocking them in. As it stands, Stott remains a serviceable second baseman that can help in multiple categories moving forward.

Thu Sep 28 202314:43Bryson Stott Sitting On Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott is out of the starting lineup Thursday versus the Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Luis L. Ortiz. While the Phillies gave several regulars a breather on Wednesday following a playoff-clinching win on Tuesday, Stott hit leadoff and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Wednesday evening. He will get his rare breather on Thursday as he's hitting .279 with 15 home runs, 31 stolen bases, and a .745 OPS across 631 plate appearances on the season. However, Stott is also hitting just .249 with a .722 OPS since the All-Star break after hitting .301 with a .760 OPS in the season's first half. Edmundo Sosa will take over at second base and hit eighth versus Ortiz on Thursday in Philadelphia.

Tue Aug 29 202316:14Bryson Stott Resting Against Left-Hander
Philadelphia Phillies middle infielder Bryson Stott is taking the day off on Tuesday with the team facing Los Angeles Angels left-hander Tyler Anderson. With Stott sitting out, Rodolfo Castro will get the nod at the keystone and will hit seventh against Anderson. Stott has actually been strong against lefties in 2023, hitting .302 (38-for-126) against them with three of his 13 home runs. The 25-year-old former first-round pick has improved dramatically in his second MLB season, as he's hitting .294 (141-for-480) with 13 home runs, 27 doubles, two triples, 53 RBI, 25 stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 123 games. In nine games for the Phils, Castro is 2-for-18 with an RBI and eight strikeouts.

Wed Aug 9 202316:16Kyle Schwarber, Bryson Stott Resting Against Lefty
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder/designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and infielder Bryson Stott are both sitting out on Wednesday against left-hander MacKenzie Gore and the Washington Nationals. Trea Turner is the designated hitter and is batting leadoff, while Edmundo Sosa will start at shortstop and bat eighth for the Phils. Schwarber clubbed two home runs in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader, but he'll get a breather after playing in both games of the double dip. The 30-year-old left-handed power hitter has 30 bombs and 72 RBI, but he's hitting just .183 (77-for-420) on the year. Stott has been impressive in his second MLB season, slashing .302/.346/.438 with 10 homers, 44 RBI, 21 stolen bases and 56 runs scored in 107 games played.

Sun Jul 23 202319:11Bryson Stott Steals Three Bases On Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott had a big afternoon in an 8-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians in 10 innings on Sunday. Stott went 0-for-1 with four walks, a run, and three stolen bases in the extra-innings win. The 25-year-old infielder is putting together a solid season for the Phillies, slashing .304/.348/.436 with nine homers, 48 runs, 36 RBI, and 19 steals across 365 at-bats. His sprint speed ranks in the 87th percentile in the league according to Statcast, so he should have no trouble continuing to provide fantasy value on the basepaths as the season goes on.

Mon Jun 12 202318:51Bryson Stott Getting A Breather Monday
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott is getting the night off Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks and left-hander Tommy Henry. While Stott has been seeing heavy playing time at the keystone this season, the timing of his absence is interesting as he has collected five hits -- including a double and a triple -- with two runs and two RBI over his last two contests. The 25-year-old is up to a .292 average with five homers, nine stolen bases, and a .739 OPS across 274 plate appearances this season, putting him on the fantasy bubble in shallow leagues in the process. Veteran Josh Harrison will take over at second base and hit seventh against Henry Monday night in Arizona.

Sat May 27 202310:02Bryson Stott Wreaks Havoc On Basepaths With Three Swipes
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and piled up three stolen bags in a 6-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Friday. The 25-year-old is on a roll recently, logging at least one in 12 of his last 13 games. Stott is also hitting .364 (12-for-33) with three homers, seven RBI, and nine runs scored over his previous nine outings as Philly's primary leadoff man. The former top prospect should be rostered in the majority of fantasy leagues as a fine source of runs, average, and stolen bases while atop the star-studded Phillies lineup.

Sat Apr 22 202313:50Bryson Stott Sitting Out On Saturday
Philadelphia Phillies infielder Bryson Stott is taking a seat on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. The 25-year-old will ride the bench against left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. Stott has functioned well as the Phillies' primary leadoff hitter but the team doesn't have full faith in him against southpaws. He's slashing a rock-solid .344/.365/.452 with one home run, seven RBI, and three stolen bases over 93 at-bats. He's got a shot to come in as a pinch-hitter once Freeland exits Saturday's contest.
