Fri Apr 25 | 14:52 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Has Quiet Start To 2025 |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez has had an inconsistent start to the 2025 campaign, logging five multi-hit performances and eight hitless efforts over his first 17 games, resulting in an uninspiring.231 AVG with no home runs and a 34.6 percent strikeout rate. A bright spot has been the Dominican's ability to draw walks, logging 13 of them thus far (16.7 percent). The Twins' second-ranked prospect (MLB No. 34) is expected to make his major league debut this season, but has played just 24 games at Triple-A, without much success. If the left-handed slugger can get on a roll, look for a call-up around midseason, especially with Minnesota's offense sputtering and in need of a boost. |

Sat Mar 29 | 08:21 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Shines In Triple-A Season Opener |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI during their victory over Indianapolis on Friday evening. In the opening frame, Rodriguez would tally his first hit of the evening, which was a single. In the third, Rodriguez would tally a two-run double, which scored Ryan Fitzgerald and Austin Martin. Later in the sixth, he would reach first via a walk and cap off his evening with another single in the seventh. The 22-year-old is considered the No. 2 prospect in the system on MLB.com, only behind budding superstar Walker Jenkins. Last summer, Rodriguez spent most of his time at Double-A and only received a brief look at Triple-A. If he continues to produce at Triple-A, the 22-year-old should be in the mix for an MLB debut in the second half of the season. |

Mon Mar 10 | 10:40 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Sent To Minor-League Camp |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) was assigned to minor-league camp on Sunday. The 22-year-old has been dealing with an ankle sprain and will begin his 2025 season in the minor leagues. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he was able to take live batting practice earlier in the week. If he does face any setbacks, he should be cleared to play at the start of the Triple-A regular season. Last season, the 22-year-old appeared in just 47 games but made a significant impact. In 37 games at Double-A, Rodriguez held a .298/.479/.621 slash line with 12 doubles and eight home runs. During his brief seven-game taste of Triple-A, Rodriguez tallied six hits. If he can take the next step in his development at Triple-A, he should push for a late 2025 MLB debut. |

Sun Mar 9 | 08:30 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Taking Live Batting Practice, Could Return Next Week |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) participated in live batting practice on Friday and could return to games sometime next week. Rodriguez suffered a sprained ankle earlier in camp but is nearing a return to action. The 22-year-old also missed a significant portion of last season due to a thumb injury that required surgery. Last summer, Rodriguez spent most of his time at Double-A where he appeared in 37 contests and held a .298/.479/.621 slash line with 12 doubles and eight long balls. Across his first seven games at the Triple-A level, Rodriguez tallied five hits with only one of them going for extra-bases. During the 2023 season, Rodriguez logged 99 games with High-A and posted a .240/.400/.463 line. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect the 22-year-old to open the season with Triple-A St. Paul. He could push for a MLB debut later in the summer if he enjoys a strong start. |

Mon Feb 17 | 18:25 | Emmanuel Rodriguez To Be Delayed With Ankle Sprain |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) sprained his left ankle last week and will be delayed for a week or two from participating in spring training camp. In addition to his ankle injury, the 21-year-old is recovered from surgery he had on his right thumb last November. The Dominican outfielder has had a problem with the injury bug so far in his professional career and has not exceeded 100 games played since joining the organization in 2021. He played in 47 games over four minor-league levels in 2024 and slashed an impressive .280/.459/.567 with a 1.026 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI, nine stolen bases and 47 runs scored in 47 games played. If Rodriguez can get past his injuries and reduce his strikeouts, he could be an intriguing power prospect at the big-league level sooner than later. First and foremost, he needs to stay healthy and will almost certainly begin the year in the minors in 2025. |

Sun Dec 1 2024 | 17:55 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Will Have "Real Chance" To Debut In 2025 |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb) will have a "real chance" to contribute in the major leagues in 2025, according to Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll. Zoll spoke on Sirius XM MLB Radio and noted that the top prospect underwent a minor thumb procedure late last summer and will likely begin the season in St. Paul. However, Zoll said that if he starts off well, he should be in a great position to debut sometime this upcoming season. The No.2 prospect in the Minnesota system and No.21 overall on MLB.com spent most of 2024 with Double-A and held an excellent .298/.479/.621 line with 12 doubles, eight home runs, and nine stolen bases. He then appeared in nine games at Triple-A St. Paul before suffering his season-ending injury. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should pay close attention to his progress during Spring Training, as he may only require a minor tune-up at Triple-A before heading to Minnesota. |

Thu Sep 12 2024 | 16:32 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Goes On Minor-League Injured List |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb) was placed on Triple-A St. Paul's injured list with a right-thumb sprain. Rodriguez, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has been limited to 47 games in the minors and 209 plate appearances this year due to injuries. In those 47 games in the Florida Complex League and with Single-A Fort Myers, Double-A Wichita and St. Paul, the 21-year-old has hit .280/.459/.567 with a 1.026 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI and nine stolen bases. His thumb injury initially cropped up in April, and he just hasn't been able to get over it all year. There's no denying Rodriguez's production and his intrigue due to a left-handed swing that produces plenty of raw power, but he has missed out on key developmental time this year. Still, if he can stay healthy in 2025, Rodriguez could be on the fast track to making his MLB debut. |

Tue Jun 18 2024 | 09:14 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Remains On Injured List At Triple-A Wichita |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb) was placed on the 7-day injured list on June 7 and remains sidelined at Double-A Wichita. Rodriguez was having a nice season at Wichita with a .298 average, eight home runs, and 20 RBI to go with a 1.100 OPS. He has added nine stolen bases. The No. 3 prospect in the Twins' system has shown good plate discipline (46 strikeouts, 40 walks) and possesses 60-grade power. Unfortunately, the injury has stalled some of his progress but he could still be looking at a promotion to Triple-A at some point this season. The 21-year-old is likely looking at 2025 for a major-league debut but his hitting profile makes him one of the top young outfielders for fantasy purposes. |

Fri May 24 2024 | 14:53 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Continues Hot Stretch With Three-Hit Game On Thursday |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez tallied three hits on Thursday, including a home run, which extended his current hitting streak to four games. Since May 14, Rodriguez has posted a stellar .379/.550/.828 line with three long balls and an 11:6 BB:K ratio. This is a great sign as the 21-year-old is beginning to look quite comfortable in his first extended look at Double-A pitching. The number three prospect in the Minnesota system is not projected to reach the majors until next season, but that could change due to his recent surge in the batter's box. Dynasty managers should pay close attention to him as he could be earning a Triple-A promotion in the coming months, which could set him up for an opportunity to join the Twins in the stretch run. |

Fri May 17 2024 | 20:48 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Ends Power Drought |
Minnesota Twins outfielder Emmanuel Rodriguez broke out of a 19-game home run drought on Thursday evening. Through his first 28 games at Double-A this season, the 21-year-old has posted a strong .271/.466/.563 slash line with five home runs, nine stolen bases, and a 34:39 BB:K ratio. Last season, Rodriguez posted a pedestrian .240/.400/.463 line with 16 home runs. This is a great sign, as the number three prospect in the Minnesota system has been performing better against tougher competition. MLB Pipeline projects him to reach the major leagues sometime next season. However, as the 33rd-best prospect in all of baseball, he is worth paying close attention to and could even be worth stashing once he is prompted to Triple-A later this summer. |

Tue Apr 23 2024 | 08:54 | Emmanuel Rodriguez Continues To Impress |
Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez has been doing it all this season for Double-A Wichita. The 21-year-old outfielder has dealt with injuries the last two seasons, but looks fully recovered in his first 14 games of the season. Over that span, Rodriguez is hitting a healthy .289 with four homers, 10 RBI and eight stolen bases. He also has a shiny 1.219 OPS. Rodriguez has risen a level in each year of professional career with the Twins and held his own at each stop. The left-handed hitter has very good bat speed and strong plate discipline at such a young age and his power game is just developing as he fills out his body. The biggest flaw for the youngster has been his ability to stay healthy, but he has the future makings of a five-tool star, if everything clicks. He is a couple years away, but he should be looked at by dynasty managers and a name for redraft managers to file away for as early as next season. |

Tue Aug 1 2023 | 12:50 | Rays Acquire Adrian Sampson, Manuel Rodriguez From Cubs |
The Tampa Bay Rays acquired right-handers Adrian Sampson, Manuel Rodriguez and cash considerations from the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday in exchange for minor-league pitcher Josh Roberson. Sampson has spent all his time in 2023 in the minors in the Arizona Complex League and Triple-A Iowa after having surgery on his right knee in May. The 31-year-old has struggled to the tune of a 9.32 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 24 strikeouts in 28 innings in the minors this year and should report to Triple-A Durham. Rodriguez, 26, also hasn't appeared in the big leagues this year and has recorded a 4.42 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 13 saves, 18 walks and 56 strikeouts in 38 2/3 relief innings at Iowa this season. Sampson nor Rodriguez are anywhere near the fantasy radar. |

Wed Aug 4 2021 | 23:55 | Manuel Rodriguez Earns First Save |
Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Manuel Rodriguez earned his first career save versus the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday evening. The Cubs called up Rodriguez when they dealt the bulk of their bullpen last week and he has now appeared in three games with Wednesday being his first save opportunity. Rodriguez took care of business and allowed one hit with one strikeout during his outing. The Cubs have also used Kyle Ryan for a save with Craig Kimbrel being dealt to the White Sox last week and also have Codi Heuer and Dan Winkler as late inning options moving forward. Rodriguez has now allowed one run in 1 2/3 innings over three appearances and has three strikeouts. The Cubs closer situation is likely to be a committee at the moment and is one to avoid in most formats at the moment. |
