Wed Mar 2622:16Tyson Miller Placed On 15-Day Injured List
The Chicago Cubs placed right-hander Tyson Miller (hip) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to March 21) with a left-hip impingement. While Miller will be eligible to come off the IL on April 5, it's uncertain if he'll actually be ready to go by then. The 29-year-old former fourth-round selection in 2016 out of California Baptist University had a nice 2.32 ERA (3.67 FIP), a 0.81 WHIP, his first career save, a career-high 54 strikeouts and 11 walks in 62 relief innings last year with both the Seattle Mariners and Cubs. Whenever he is deemed healthy enough to make his 2025 debut, expect Miller to operate in a middle-relief role for the Cubbies, making him largely avoidable in all fantasy leagues. Miller sports a 7-3 record, 3.87 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 72:28 K:BB in 74 career outings (three starts) in his four seasons in the big leaues.

Tue May 14 202400:16Cubs Trade For Tyson Miller Monday
The Chicago Cubs are reportedly trading infielder Jake Slaughter to the Seattle Mariners for relief pitcher Tyson Miller, per ESPN's Jeff Passan. The 28-year-old Miller was designated for assignment and will join the Cubs in the bullpen. He put together strong numbers in limited action with the Mariners, compiling a 3.09 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and 26.7% strikeout rate in 11 2/3 innings pitched. The 27-year-old Slaughter had slashed .297/.392/.486 with five home runs, 17 RBI, and 10 stolen bases in 130 plate appearances with Triple-A Iowa. Neither player should be on the fantasy radar until their roles are established.

The Seattle Mariners signed right-hander Tyson Miller to a minor-league deal over the weekend. Miller spent the 2023 season with the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. The 28-year-old made 10 appearances in relief last year, allowing eight earned runs while walking six and striking out 10 in 15 1/3 innings pitched. In three major-league seasons, he's struggled to the tune of a 6.97 ERA (5.65 FIP) and 1.55 WHIP with 17 walks and 18 strikeouts in 31 innings over 16 appearances (three starts).

Relief Pitcher Tyson Miller has signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have a strong track record when it comes to developing relief pitchers so Miller could contribute to the big league club as early as next year.
