Wed Mar 26 | 07:49 | Angels Designate Angel Perdomo For Assignment |
The Los Angeles Angels have designated left-handed pitcher Angel Perdomo for assignment. The Angels acquired Perdomo from Atlanta in exchange for cash considerations earlier in March. However, he will now be placed on waivers and will likely begin his season at the Triple-A level. Last season, Perdomo was unable to pitch due to Tommy John surgery. In 2023, the southpaw spent his time in the majors in Pittsburgh and logged 29 innings to the tune of a 3.72 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. Across this stint, he held an 11:44 BB:K and generated an impressive 2.75 xERA. Earlier in that season, he posted a similar 3.18 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP across 22 2/3 innings with Triple-A Indianapolis. Fantasy managers should expect Perdomo to contend to return to the majors later in the season if he performs well at Triple-A. |

Mon Mar 17 | 23:16 | Angel Perdomo Traded To The Angels |
Relief pitcher Angel Perdomo was traded from the Atlanta Braves to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. He has looked good this spring and figures to slot into a spot in the Angels' bullpen. The lefty missed all of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery but was productive in 2023. He posted a 3.72 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 44 strikeouts in 29 innings. Although it was a smaller sample, his 37.6% strikeout rate, 2.75 xERA, and .183 xBA all graded out as elite. He should serve as a solid middle reliever behind the Angels' high-leverage arms of Kenley Jansen, Ben Joyce, and Brock Burke. |

Thu Dec 7 2023 | 14:33 | Angel Perdomo Inks One-Year, Non-Guaranteed Split Contract With Braves |
The Atlanta Braves and left-hander Angel Perdomo have agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed split contract for the 2024 season. The club claimed the southpaw off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates last month but he will miss the 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October. The contract ensures he remains within the organization after he tossed a healthy 3.72 ERA across 30 appearances with the Pirates in the 2023 season. He also impressed with a 3.18 ERA across 20 appearances at the Triple-A level a season ago. The 29-year-old has logged 52 career big-league appearances in parts of three seasons, working to a 5.55 ERA in that time but his 4.39 FIP, 3.65 SIERA, and massive 35.8% K%, albeit alongside a 15.8% BB%, are far more encouraging. |

The Atlanta Braves claimed relief pitcher Angel Perdomo (elbow) off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday after he underwent Tommy John surgery on Oct. 6. Perdomo will now miss all of the 2024 season after he had a 3.72 ERA (3.01 FIP) and 1.10 WHIP with 11 walks and a career-high 44 strikeouts in 29 relief innings for the Pirates in his third major-league season. The 29-year-old southpaw will remain in Atlanta's organization for now. In his three major-league seasons (two with the Milwaukee Brewers), Perdomo has a 5.55 ERA (4.39 FIP), 1.44 WHIP, 34 walks and 77 strikeouts in 48 2/3 relief innings over 52 appearances out of the bullpen. |
