Mon Apr 1406:03William Contreras Crushes Third Homer Of The Season
Milwaukee Brewers catcher Williams Contreras connected on a two-run home run in the first inning of Zac Gallen, but the Brew Crew dropped the series finale in Arizona, 5-2. Contreras went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the defeat and is now hitting .222 (12-for-54) with a pair of doubles, three home runs, and a .329 wOBA through his first 15 games. The 27-year-old catcher is one of the most reliable bats at the position, although his hard-hit rate and barrel rate have dipped in the early part of the season. Hopefully, Sunday's home run is the start of a turnaround in that trend. After a 3-3 road trip last week, Contreras and the Brewers are back home to start this week with a three-game series against the Tigers that begins on Monday night in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras continued his recent strong hitting in a 17-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. Contreras went 1-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and two RBI in the high-scoring win over the Rockies. The veteran catcher has tormented Colorado over the past two games, hitting two homers and driving in four runs. Sun Apr 613:30William Contreras Sitting On Sunday
Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras is not in the starting lineup on Sunday when the Brewers conclude a series against the Cincinnati Reds. Contreras has started in each of the first nine games of the regular season. Instead, the Brewers will give catching duties to Eric Haase. He will bat in the nine-hole. This is a much-needed off day for Contreras as he has had a difficult start to the regular season. Through his first nine games, he has posted an underwhelming .097/.263/.097 line with just three hits and a 7:9 BB:K. Last summer, the 27-year-old was the most valuable catcher in fantasy as he posted a stellar .281/.365/.466 slash line with 23 home runs and nine stolen bases. Haase has tallied two hits, including a home run in his first three games, and is worth a look as a budget option in DFS facing right-hander Carson Spiers.

Fri Jan 3121:07William Contreras Avoids Arbitration With Brewers
Catcher William Contreras avoided salary arbitration with the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $6 million deal, according to a source. The deal includes a $12 million club option for the 2026 season with a $100,000 buyout. Earlier this month, the All-Star catcher field for $6.5 million, while the Brewers countered at $5.6 million. The 27-year-old was one of the best offensive catchers in baseball in 2024 in his second year with the Brew Crew, setting career-highs in home runs (23), RBI (92), stolen bases (nine), runs scored (99) and games played (155) while slashing .281/.365/.466 with an .831 OPS in his 679 plate appearances. He could be used more as the designated hitter by Milwaukee in 2025, but that shouldn't change the fact that he is an elite offensive catching target for fantasy managers. Perhaps more time off his feet will make him even more productive at the plate.

In the three-game Wild-Card Series, Contreras went 2-for-12 with two RBI and three strikeouts while grounding into a double play. He also hit .257 (19-for-74) with three home runs, three doubles, 12 RBI, 16 walks and 22 strikeouts in 23 games in the final month of the regular season in September.
