Tue May 6 | 17:33 | Tommy Edman Likely To Return Next Week |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle) is unlikely to come off the injured list during this weekend's series in Arizona against the division-rival Diamondbacks, according to manager Dave Roberts. Edman will do some running on Tuesday, and Roberts said his ankle hasn't responded as fast as the team initially anticipated. It's more likely that Edman will return from the IL after next Monday's off day. The Dodgers could use the 29-year-old back with Teoscar Hernandez (groin) landing on the IL, but they aren't going to rush anything. Until Edman is able to return, rookie Hyeseong Kim and Kike Hernandez figure to split playing time at the keystone in L.A. Edman is on pace for a career-high in homers after already hitting eight in 30 games in 2025 before his injury. It's possible he's back for the series opener on May 13 against the Athletics. |

Sat May 3 | 17:09 | Tommy Edman Heading To 10-Day Injured List |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle) is heading to the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 30, after suffering an ankle injury on Tuesday earlier this week. It was reported that he "tweaked" his ankle during Tuesday's game, and it didn't seem too serious, but he will now be out for several games in the short term with right ankle inflammation. The 29-year-old was slashing .252/.295/.523 with eight home runs, 24 RBI, 19 runs scored, and two steals over 30 games before the injury, so there is a good amount of production and versatility that the Dodgers will be missing. The good news is that they have offseason acquisition Hyeseong Kim coming up from Triple-A to replace him. Kim had tallied a .252-5-19-22-13 stat line over 28 games, and had made starts at second base, shortstop, and center field, so he can also provide versatility. |

Fri May 2 | 16:36 | Tommy Edman Still Not Ready To Play |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle) remains absent from the team's starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the hosting Atlanta Braves. Edman sat out of Wednesday's series finale against the Miami Marlins after tweaking his ankle on Tuesday and won't be back on Friday despite having a scheduled off day on Thursday. The 29-year-old's injury isn't considered very serious, though, and manager Dave Roberts said he expected Edman to return in one of the first two games of this weekend's series. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Saturday to see if he's active. Veteran Miguel Rojas will start at second base again and will hit ninth on Friday against Braves right-hander Grant Holmes. DFS gamers should look elsewhere, as Rojas has very little fantasy upside at the bottom of the lineup. He's gone 12-for-44 (.273) this year with no homers, two RBI and two runs scored as a backup infielder. |

Wed Apr 30 | 22:27 | Tommy Edman Dealing With Ankle Injury |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle), who did not start in Wednesday's series finale win over the visiting Miami Marlins, said he tweaked his right ankle on Tuesday night and still felt some discomfort on Wednesday. The Dodgers have a scheduled day off on Thursday before beginning a series in Atlanta against the Braves on Friday, so fantasy managers will want to check back then to see if Edman is feeling good enough to play. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day until further notice. The veteran switch-hitter isn't tearing the cover off the baseball through the first month of the 2025 season -- he's hitting .252 (28-for-111) -- but he's managed to be productive for his fantasy managers with 24 RBI, 19 runs scored, two stolen bases and eight home runs in 30 games played. |

Wed Apr 30 | 12:51 | Tommy Edman, Will Smith Resting Against Marlins |
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tommy Edman and catcher Will Smith are both taking a seat for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Miami Marlins. The hot-hitting Andy Pages is starting in center field and batting fifth, while Austin Barnes is doing the catching and hitting in the nine-hole against Marlins right-hander Cal Quantrill. Enrique Hernandez is at second and is hitting seventh. Pages is among the hottest hitters in baseball right now, as he comes into Wednesday's contest riding a seven-game hitting streak in which he's gone 17-for-29 with three doubles, four home runs, eight RBI, three steals and nine runs scored. Edman has been on the bench for two of the last three games and has gone 3-for-19 in his last six games. It's just a regular rest day for Smith, who is hitting a strong .316 (24-for-76) in the early going with three homers and 17 RBI for the Blue. |

Mon Apr 28 | 18:54 | Tommy Edman Resting On Monday |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman is not in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium. With Edman starting on the bench on Monday, veteran Miguel Rojas will start at second base and will bat ninth against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. Edman currently boasts a modest .243 (26-for-107) batting average in the early going in 2025, but he has also delivered eight home runs, 19 RBI and 18 runs scored in the best lineup in baseball. The switch-hitting 29-year-old should return to action on Tuesday and continue to be productive offensively for fantasy managers. Edman went 1-for-11 with four strikeouts in the weekend series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rojas is one to ignore for DFS purposes. He's hitless in just one career at-bat against Cabrera. |

Wed Apr 23 | 08:31 | Tommy Edman Homers In Tuesdayâs Extra-Inning Loss To Cubs |
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tommy Edman continued his early-season power surge Tuesday, launching a three-run home run in the first inning of Tuesday's 11-10 extra-inning loss to the Chicago Cubs. It was Edman's eighth home run of the season, already surpassing his total of six from last year. He also added a sacrifice fly and a single, finishing 2-for-4 with four RBI on the night. Edman is now slashing .272/.303/.576 and remains a key contributor to the Dodgers' potent lineup. Los Angeles will look to split the two-game series with the Cubs on Wednesday before an off day leading into the weekend |

Thu Apr 3 | 06:03 | Tommy Edman Hits Two-Run Homer Wednesday |
Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in a 6-5 win over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. Edman launched 415-foot blast off Atlanta starter Bryce Elder in the fourth inning, giving him four homers in 31 at-bats in the early going. The veteran infielder should continue to put up counting stats this season hitting in the middle of a loaded Los Angeles lineup. He will be off on Thursday before the Dodgers open up a three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. |

Wed Mar 19 | 23:12 | Tommy Edman Launches Solo Shot |
Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman hit his first homer of the year in the Dodgers 6-3 win over the Cubs on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan. It's certainly a good start to the season for the infielder, who also logged an RBI single in the first game of the Tokyo Series on Tuesday. He had a limited but productive debut season with the Dodgers in 2024, slashing .237/.294/.417 with six home runs, 20 RBI, 20 runs, and six stolen bases in 37 games. He has some sleeper appeal in this loaded Los Angeles lineup as he hopes to return to the form he showed from 2021 to 2023. He tallied double-digit home runs and at least 27 steals in each of those three seasons, which is a very valuable skillset for fantasy. |

Fri Nov 29 2024 | 19:07 | Tommy Edman Agrees To Five-Year Extension With Dodgers |
Super utilityman Tommy Edman and the Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a five-year, $74 million contract extension on Friday, according to sources. The deal runs from 2025 through the 2029 season and includes a sixth-year team option. There's also a $17 million signing bonus and deferred money included. The 29-year-old started the 2024 season with the St. Louis Cardinals but didn't make his season debut until midway through August after he had already been traded to the Dodgers. The former sixth-round pick of the Cardinals in 2016 out of Stanford played both center field and shortstop for the Blue on their way to a World Series title, and he was named the National League Championship Series MVP against the Mets. In 37 regular-season games, Edman hit .237/.294/.417 with a .711 OPS, six homers, 20 RBI and six steals. The switch-hitter is better against lefties and should be an everyday player in 2025. |

Sun Oct 27 2024 | 07:40 | Tommy Edman Extends Hitting Streak To Eight Games |
Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Tommy Edman went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in Game 2 of the World Series. Edman has now tallied at least one hit in each of the past eight games and tallied at least two hits in each of the past five. Throughout October, Edman has been one of the most consistent bats in the Dodger lineup as he currently holds a stellar .365/.358/.577 slash line with two home runs, 13 RBI, and four stolen bases. His impressive 11 RBI during the NLDS earned him MVP honors in that series. The veteran utility man will continue to be a popular pick in DFS contests given his incredible stretch on Monday evening when he faces Yankee right-hander Clarke Schmidt. |

Mon Oct 21 2024 | 01:46 | Tommy Edman Takes Home NLCS MVP Honors |
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tommy Edman was named the NLCS MVP after a series-clinching Game 6 win over the New York Mets. Edman had another big game to seal the honor, going 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double, two runs scored, and four RBI. The 29-year-old was an RBI machine in this series, driving in 11 runs over the six games. He also batted .407 and scored five runs. There was some tough competition with the Dodgers' star-studded lineup, but Edman proved himself worthy even if he isn't as big of a name. Los Angeles has to be pretty happy with their mid-season acquisition of Edman. |

Fri Sep 20 2024 | 18:43 | Tommy Edman Takes A Seat On Friday |
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tommy Edman will head to the bench ahead of Friday's game against the Colorado Rockies. This appears to be a routine rest day for Edman who has been on fire with the bat lately. Edman is hitting over .300 with six home runs over his late 53 plate appearances. That being said, Edman should be back in the lineup after his rest day. Andy Pages will cover center field and bat sixth against left-hander Kyle Freeland on Friday. Pages is crushing lefty pitchers to the tune of a .347 batting average with two homers and eight RBI this season. |

Sun Aug 18 2024 | 13:40 | Tommy Edman Set To Return On Monday |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) is set to make his return from the injured list on Monday. Edman is finally ready to make his season debut after missing a majority of the season due to multiple injuries. The 29-year-old can play all over the field but is expected to mainly play in center field for the Dodgers. Kevin Kiermaier has been playing a lot of center field lately, so he's likely going to slide into a bench role. Edman has been pretty reliable on offense and should be an asset in most fantasy formats. |

Fri Aug 16 2024 | 17:12 | Tommy Edman To Return On Monday |
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (ankle, wrist) is scheduled to come off the 60-day injured list to make his season and team debut on Monday for the start of a series against the Seattle Mariners at Dodger Stadium. Edman had offseason wrist surgery and recently suffered an ankle injury that has kept him from making his 2024 debut. However, he's finally on the cusp of a return for fantasy managers that have been stashing him all year. The 29-year-old should see most of his playing time in center field for the Dodgers, which is bad news for both Kevin Kiermaier and rookie Andy Pages, but Edman is also likely to be eased in to a regular role given his long layoff. In five minor-league rehab games at Triple-A Oklahoma City, Edman has gone 5-for-15 with a home run. |

Tue Aug 13 2024 | 21:22 | Tommy Edman Slated For Seven Innings In Rehab Game |
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop/outfielder Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) took part in his first rehab game with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday and is slated to play seven innings on Tuesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Barring any setbacks, Edman is on schedule to return from wrist surgery and a sprained ankle and make his season and Dodgers debut next Monday against the Seattle Mariners. Although it's unclear what kind of role he'll play right off the bat, Edman could eventually work his way into an everyday role in center field for the Dodgers down the stretch of the year. Even if he slots into the lower part of the batting order, the speedy 29-year-old switch-hitter will have legitimate fantasy upside as part of LA's vaunted lineup. Last year with the St. Louis Cardinals, Edman hit 25 doubles, scored 69 runs, and stole 27 bases in 137 games (479 at-bats). He makes a lot of sense as a stash across all formats. |

Sun Aug 11 2024 | 12:58 | Max Muncy, Tommy Edman Expected To Return During Next Homestand |
Los Angeles Dodgers president Andrew Friedman said that he expects both third baseman Max Muncy (oblique) and infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (wrist) to be reinstated from the injured list for the team's next homestand, which begins a week from Monday. Muncy and Edman were set to start their minor-league rehab assignments over the weekend with Triple-A Oklahoma City, so barring a setback, they should both be with the Dodgers' big-league roster soon. Muncy has been out since May 17 with a right-oblique strain, while Edman has yet to play in 2024 after having offseason wrist surgery. The Dodgers acquired him from the Cardinals at the July 30 trade deadline. LA could ease both of them into their starting lineup when they are ready, but by the end of the regular season, both Muncy and Edman should be regular lineup pieces for the Blue. |

Wed Aug 7 2024 | 21:21 | Max Muncy, Tommy Edman To Start Rehab Action This Weekend |
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy (oblique) and infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (wrist, ankle) are expected to join Triple-A Oklahoma City on a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend. With that said, the two veteran infielders are at least a week before joining the Dodgers. Muncy is first set to participate in a simulated game on Thursday at Dodger Stadium, and barring any setbacks with his strained right oblique, he should be back with the major-league club sometime in mid-August. Edman will also participate in the sim outing as he works his way back from offseason right wrist surgery and a sprained ankle and toward his 2024 season debut. Muncy should immediately slot right back in as LA's everyday third baseman upon his return, while Edman should have a chance to push for regular at-bats in the outfield. |

Mon Jul 29 2024 | 14:15 | Tommy Edman Traded To The Dodgers |
Utility specialist Tommy Edman (wrist) was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday as part of a three-team trade with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox. Edman has yet to make his season debut following offseason wrist surgery and some ankle soreness in the middle of July. However, he is close to a return, as he is currently on a rehab assignment. Given his potential to play all over the field for Los Angeles, he should be added in most 12-plus team leagues. Last season, Edman finished with a .248 average, 13 home runs, 25 doubles, four triples, and 27 stolen bases. |

Mon Jul 29 2024 | 00:47 | Tommy Edman Garnering Interest In Trade Market |
St. Louis Cardinals infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman (wrist) is drawing interest from both the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. Edman hasn't played yet this year while recovering from multiple injuries, but that hasn't stopped either team from going for the versatile 29-year-old in the trade market. Edman provides quality defense at prime positions and is a decent bat who can steal bases, making him a perfect piece to slot into a contending team. The Cardinals will likely look for a pretty decent package for the switch-hitter, but if he does get traded he will see an uptick in fantasy value with either of the teams rumored to be interested in him. |
