Thu Apr 1721:18Randy Arozarena Comes Up Clutch
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena was the hero for his team during Thursday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Arozarena tied the game with a home run off right-hander Emilio Pagan in the ninth inning. He would later hit a two-run single in the 10th inning to help extend the lead to 10-7. That would be enough as the Mariners were able to take this game 11-7 in 10 innings. Arozarena finished his day 2-for-4 with a double, homer, 3 RBI, and two walks in the victory. His slash line isn't pretty, but Arozarena is heating up with five hits over his last three games.

Wed Apr 919:51Randy Arozarena Hits Grand Slam, Draws Walk-Off Walk In Comeback Win
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena had a huge game and was the primary catalyst for the team's 7-6 comeback win over the division-rival Houston Astros at T-Mobile Park on Wednesday. Arozarena did it all for the M's in this one, going 2-for-5 with a grand slam and a walk in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk the Astros off with the bases loaded and two outs. The 30-year-old veteran finished the game with five RBI, a run scored and two walks to raise his season average to .191 and his OPS to .801. The Cuban slugger came into Wednesday's game hitting just .159 (7-for-44) but with two home runs and three doubles in his first 12 games of 2025. While Arozarena still has plenty of power/speed potential, his move to Seattle late last year wasn't great for fantasy purposes. He has produced four straight 20-20 seasons, but don't expect much help in the average department.

Tue Apr 110:00Randy Arozarena Smashes Second Homer Of The Season
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena connected on a solo home run in the second inning, which started Seattle's comeback against Detroit that ultimately fell just short. Arozarena's second homer of the season came in his first at-bat of the game, and he later added a walk in the third inning and a double in the seventh inning. The Mariners trailed 6-0 before they even came to the plate on Monday and came back to make it close before losing, 9-6. Arozarena is 3-for-16 (.188) after his two hits on Monday, with four walks and six strikeouts. Since each of his hits have been for extra bases, he has a .438 ISO and .405 wOBA despite his low batting average.

Thu Jan 919:15Randy Arozarena, Mariners Avoid Arbitration
According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Seattle Mariners and outfielder Randy Arozarena have agreed on a one-year contract worth $11.3 million to avoid arbitration. Arozarena opened the 2024 campaign with the Tampa Bay Rays but was eventually shipped to Seattle during the second half. The outfielder had a down year to his standards as he held a .219/.332/.388 line across 154 games. This was a stark drop to the .254/.364/.425 line he held during the 2023 campaign. However, he did hit 20 home runs and swiped 20 bags. Under the hood, he generated a solid 43.5% hard-hit rate but struggled at the plate with a hefty 29.7% whiff rate and a 26.1% K rate, which were both significantly below the average marks. Fantasy managers should expect Arozarena to operate as the everyday left fielder in Seattle in 2025.

Thu Sep 5 202415:02Randy Arozarena, J.P. Crawford Sitting On Thursday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena and shortstop J.P. Crawford are both taking the day off on Thursday in the series finale against the division-rival Oakland Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum. Victor Robles will start in left field and bat leadoff, while Leo Rivas will make the start at the 6 and bat ninth against A's right-hander Joey Estes. This will be just Arozarena's second day off with Seattle since they acquired him at the end of July from the Rays. He's been a bit better in Seattle than he was in Tampa earlier this year, batting .238 (29-for-122) with three homers and 12 RBI in his 34 games played. Crawford, meanwhile, has a hit in each of his last two games but has gone 2-for-24 with five strikeouts in seven games since returning from an IL stint on Aug. 28. Robles has been a new hitter since joining the M's and will be a nice sleeper target in DFS in the leadoff spot on Thursday.

Wed Aug 28 202421:42Randy Arozarena Goes Deep Against Rays
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena put together a strong revenge game in Wednesday afternoon's win over the visiting Tampa Bay Rays at T-Mobile Park, putting up three hits and a home run in the victory. Arozarena sent a solo homer over the wall in center field to extend the Mariners' lead to 6-2 in the eighth inning on Wednesday against the Rays. The streaky 29-year-old left fielder has been more of the same since landing in Seattle, but overall, he's slashing an improved .242/.385/.394 with three big flies, 10 RBI, 20 runs scored, and four stolen bases through 99 at-bats (28 games) with the M's. His fantasy upside the rest of the way will remain capped, however, by a pitcher-friendly home ballpark and a poor Seattle lineup.

Tue Aug 27 202409:12Randy Arozarena Hits First Homer In August
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena's three-run homer in Monday's 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays was his first in August and only his second since being traded by the Rays on July 26. Arozarena's home run was his only hit in three at-bats. He is hitting .213/.331/.385 with 17 homers, 46 RBI, and 63 runs scored along with 20 stolen bases in 28 attempts. Arozarena's power-speed combination and modest OBP keep him in most lineups. However, fantasy managers find it harder to justify having him in their lineups during the worst season of his career.

Sun Aug 18 202412:18Randy Arozarena Getting A Day Off
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park as the Mariners look to avoid a three-game sweep. Arozarena was beginning to pick things up offensively early in the second half of the season before he was traded to the Mariners at the deadline in late July, but the 29-year-old slugger has fallen on hard times again. He could use the day off after striking out in all five of his at-bats in Saturday's loss. Luke Raley is getting the start in left field for the M's and will bat cleanup, with Justin Turner playing first base and hitting sixth against Pirates right-hander Jake Woodford. Since joining Seattle on July 27, Arozarena has hit .239 (16-for-67) with a homer, five doubles, five RBI and 25 strikeouts in 83 plate appearances over 19 games played. He's also gone hitless over his last four games in 15 at-bats with 10 strikeouts. It's been a tough year for Arozarena and his fantasy managers.

Tue Jul 30 202418:07Randy Arozarena Back In The Lineup
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena (undisclosed) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox. The 29-year-old slugger was removed from Monday's game due to an undisclosed issue after running into the left-field wall. To be fair, the game was already a blowout, so the Mariners had little incentive to leave their newly acquired slugger in the game. Arozarena has five hits in 11 at-bats with his new team. He'll bat second and play left field versus left-hander James Paxton on Tuesday. Get Arozarena back into your starting lineups.

Sat Jul 27 202418:10Randy Arozarena Batting Second In Mariners Debut
Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena will bat second in the order in his Mariners debut on Saturday night against the Chicago White Sox. Arozarena was acquired via trade by the Mariners late on Thursday night. He'll face off against White Sox starter Erick Fedde, who he has only seen once in his career and is 0-1 against. With injuries to two key parts of the Mariners' lineup (J.P. Crawford and Julio Rodriguez) Arozarena will be asked to carry a heavy load until they are back. With a .318 wOBA and a .338 xwOBA during his time in Tampa, the 29-year-old is due for positive regression. Fantasy managers should not hesitate to keep the right-hander active in their lineup as he should see positive results coming his way shortly.

Fri Jul 26 202412:22Randy Arozarena Expected To Report To Mariners On Saturday
Newly acquired outfielder Randy Arozarena is expected to report to the Seattle Mariners to make his debut with the team on Saturday on the road in Chicago against the White Sox and right-hander Erick Fedde. In an effort to boost their struggling offense, especially after losing both outfielder Julio Rodriguez (ankle) and shortstop J.P. Crawford (finger) to injuries this week, the Mariners acquired Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night in exchange for outfield prospect Aidan Smith, pitching prospect Brody Hopkins and a player to be named later. Arozarena, was having a pretty disappointing season in Tampa before the trade, hitting just .211 (74-for-350) but with 15 homers, 37 RBI and 16 stolen bases. The Cuban outfielder has picked things up in July, though, going 19-for-69 (.275) with four homers, seven doubles, nine RBI and six steals in 19 games, so the M's are hoping he can keep that up now that he'll be joining their roster.

Fri Jul 26 202401:00Randy Arozarena Headed To Seattle
The Seattle Mariners have acquired outfielder Randy Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for outfield prospect Aidan Smith, pitching prospect Brody Hopkins, and a player to be named later. Smith is the Mariners' 12th ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline, while Hopkins ranks 22nd in their system. Arozarena should provide an immediate boost to a Mariners lineup that is in desperate need of it. The 29-year-old is having a down year, but he has been good since June, hitting .290 with seven homers and nine steals. His fantasy value shouldn't change much going from Tampa to Seattle, but he remains a must-start outfielder in all formats.

Tue Jul 23 202423:18Dodgers In On Randy Arozarena
The Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping to add an impact bat in the outfield prior to the trade deadline next Tuesday, July 30, and they "are in on Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena," according to a source. Arozarena is having a down year overall in 2024 but has heated up since the beginning of June. Entering play on Tuesday, he had a .906 OPS with seven home runs since June 1 and has been looking more like the player who won American League Rookie of the Year honors in 2021 and an All-Star selection last year. The 29-year-old is earning $8.1 million in 2024 and is arbitration-eligible for two more years. Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is also drawing interest from the Dodgers. He's signed for $15 million in 2025 with $20 million club options for both 2026 and 2027. The asking price on Robert is quite high.

Sat Jul 20 202422:10Randy Arozarena Homers Twice Saturday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena homered twice while knocking in three runs in a 9-1 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday. The veteran is now hitting .212 with 14 home runs, 34 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 41 runs scored in 388 plate appearances. His first homer came off starter Nestor Cortes, and his second homer was off reliever Josh Maciejewski. Arozarena finished the day with four hits and two runs scored as well. If Tampa is to make a push for a playoff berth, they will need the veteran Arozarena to hit better in the second half.

Thu Jul 18 202415:57Rays Will Listen On Randy Arozarena, Yandy Diaz, Isaac Paredes
The Tampa Bay Rays will listen to trade offers on outfielder Randy Arozarena, first baseman Yandy Diaz and third baseman Isaac Paredes in the right deal with the July 30 deadline quickly approaching. According to sources, the Rays and Seattle Mariners have yet to engage in serious dialogue about Seattle's interest in adding an impact bat this summer, but the two teams are frequent trading partners and talks could advance in the coming days as the second half of the 2024 season gets underway. It's just speculation right now, but it's something to keep an eye on. Arozarena, a first-time All-Star last year, has tanked in 2024 and is heading into the second half hitting just .202 (66-for-326), although he does have 12 homers, 31 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 93 games. A change of scenery to a contender could get him back on track in the second half.

Sun Jun 30 202416:22Randy Arozarena Homers Sunday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena homered on Sunday to lead the team to a 5-0 victory over the Washington Nationals. The veteran outfielder connected for his 11th homer off reliever Jordan Weems. Arozarena is hitting a disappointing .196 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and 25 runs scored on the year. In his last 15 games, though, Arozarena is hitting .294 with three home runs, eight RBI, and three steals. Perhaps as the weather warms, Arozarena will continue to produce better results for his fantasy managers.

Tue Jun 25 202416:51Randy Arozarena On The Bench Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena is retreating to the bench on Tuesday against the visiting Seattle Mariners. Josh Lowe will serve as the designated hitter and will bat second, while Jonny DeLuca draws into the lineup in left field and will hit in the nine-hole against Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo. It will be the struggling Arozarena's first day off this month. The 29-year-old has hit 10 home runs and stolen 10 bases, but he's batting just .191 (51-for-267) on the year after making his first All-Star appearance in 2023. The good news is that he could be pulling out of his season-long slump, as he's gone 11-for-33 (.333) with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI, three stolen bases and five runs scored in his last 10 games. Don't give up on Arozarena just yet in 2024.

Thu Jun 20 202411:01Randy Arozarena Scores Game-Winner In 10th Inning
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, and was hit by a pitch in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Twins. The HBP came in the top of the tenth inning, Arozarena then stole second, and came around to score what would eventually be the game-winning run on a Royce Lewis throwing error. The 29-year-old has had a disappointing season to this point, currently slashing .185/.299/.345, but is showing signs of turning things around, recording a .298-2-6-8-2 line in June with two separate five-game hit streaks, more walks than strikeouts (9:8), and even collecting a painful five HBPs in 16 games. The veteran may also be in line for some positive regression as he sports a low .217 BABIP compared to a career BABIP of .317.

Wed Jun 19 202408:27Randy Arozarena Goes Yard, Starting To Warm Up
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena went 1-for-4 in Tuesday's loss versus the Minnesota Twins. Arozarena's lone hit would be a big one, as he put the Rays up 3-0 in the top of the first inning. Arozarena has been one of the more consistent outfielders over the past few seasons, but has struggled mightily this season with a .179 batting average to go with 10 homers, 25 RBI and seven stolen bases. The batting average is a major disappointment, but it is nice that the veteran is helping with power and on the basepaths. The outfielder is now hitting .257 with two homers and six RBI over his last 35 at-bats and it appears that he may finally being turning the page on a rough start to the season. With his recent improvement, Arozarena's buy-low window continues to shut more.

Fri May 31 202417:45Randy Arozarena Absent On Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. The 29-year-old has been struggling at the plate, so this appears to be a routine rest day. This season, Arozarena is slashing .159/.258/.313 with eight home runs and 19 RBI. Jonny DeLuca will cover his spot in left field and bat fifth versus Albert Suarez on Friday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.
