Sun Apr 1308:32Luis Robert Jr. Homers In Victory
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. tried to break out of his slump during Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox. He was fairly quiet until blasting a two-run home run in the sixth inning to tie the game. Robert would later steal a base and score the game-winning run in the ninth inning. It has been an ugly start for Robert, but he is tied for the MLB lead in steals with six. He has also collected a hit in four of his last five games. Hopefully, Robert is now trending in the right direction, so fantasy managers should continue to hold him.

Thu Apr 1012:12Luis Robert Jr. Resting On Thursday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. will head to the bench for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Michael Taylor will start in center field and will bat eighth against Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. Robert could probably use the day off, as he was hitless in his five plate appearances on Wednesday and has gone just 6-for-39 (.154) with a double, RBI, three steals, three runs scored, five walks and 13 strikeouts in his first 11 games in 2025. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried just yet, but hopefully the 27-year-old slugger can begin to pick things up this weekend for a series at home against the visiting Boston Red Sox. Taylor has gone just 3-for-17 in the early going with a homer, two RBI and a stolen base in eight games played. He'll be a weak DFS option, and he's never faced Williams in his career.

Wed Apr 909:43Luis Robert Jr. Swipes Two Bags In Loss To Cleveland
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-3 with a single and two steals in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Cleveland Guardians. The 27-year-old was also caught stealing on a third attempt, walking and striking out once. Robert Jr. has struggled to kick off the season, compiling a .176 (6-for-34) batting average with a lone extra-base hit (double) in his first ten appearances (34-at-bats). However, it was nice to see him running again -- something he hadn't done since March. The Cuban-born right-hander has been a notoriously slow starter over the prior few seasons, so it's not time to sound the alarm bells yet. One silver lining for Robert Jr. is that his hard-hit rate has jumped up nearly three points thus far from the 40.7% figure he bolstered in 2024 (43.5%).

Wed Dec 11 202411:35Reds Interested In Luis Robert Jr.
The Cincinnati Reds have "checked in on" outfielder Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox in an effort to upgrade their outfield, both on defense and on offense. The Reds have already shored up their rotation by trading for right-hander Brady Singer last month but would like to fill the void left on offense with the departure of Jonathan India. The team has Matt McLain set to return from injury, so they are looking to the outfield, and Robert fits the bill. It would be costly, as the Reds would have to pay his $15 million salary, but the 27-year-old is a former All-Star and Gold Glove award winner. The right-handed hitter has played more than 100 games in a season just once since debuting in 2020. In 2024, the Cuban played 100 games on the nose after a hip-flexor strain caused him to miss about two months. He finished with a .224/.278/.379 slash line with 14 home runs but was able to set a new career high in stolen bases with 23 despite the lengthy absence. If he's able to stay healthy for a full season, he could be a strong multi-category contributor for fantasy in 2025.

Thu Dec 5 202414:30White Sox Intent On Trading Luis Robert Jr.?
ESPN's Buster Olney writes that the perception of some MLB teams is that the Chicago White Sox are intent on trading outfielder Luis Robert Jr. this offseason, which could be an indication that the White Sox want to cash out on Robert's diminished value now instead of waiting and seeing his value drop even further if he struggles again in the first half of 2025. Robert will make $15 million in 2025 with $20 million club options in 2025 and 2026. "If they really believed he would bounce back, wouldn't you hang onto him until next summer and look for him to rebuild his value?" asked one rival official. More injuries limited the 27-year-old to 100 games in 2024, and he hit just .224/.278/.379 with 14 home runs and a strikeout rate over 30%. It's a big if for Robert staying healthy in 2025, but if he does and the White Sox hold him, he could bounce back nicely and fetch high-end prospects in a trade. It's a big risk.

Tue Dec 3 202423:45White Sox Asking A Lot For Luis Robert Jr.
The Chicago White Sox have a very high price tag on outfielder Luis Robert Jr. in trade discussions this offseason and don't think they are overreaching, according to a source briefed on their thinking. "I don't think they understand what his value is," an MLB executive said. Chicago isn't asking for multiple prospects but do want a "meaningful piece" in return. The 27-year-old is no doubt physically gifted, but he's played in over 100 games just once in the past four seasons back in 2023, when he clubbed 38 long balls, had an .857 OPS and finished 12th in the American League in MVP voting. But outside of that season, he has struggled to stay healthy and was out from April 6 to June 4 with a hip-flexor strain in 2024. He's guaranteed $15 million in 2025 and has $20 million club options for 2025 and 2026. The shortage of center field options and quality bats has kept interest in Robert high.

Sun Sep 29 202412:24Luis Robert Jr. Returns To Starting Nine In Season Finale
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (ribs) is returning to the starting nine in the final game of the 2024 season. Robert was kept out of the lineup for the past two games due to soreness in his rib cage. The 27-year-old will cover center field and bat in the two-hole. After hitting a career-high 38 home runs last season, the outfielder took a significant step back this summer as he has hit only 14 with a modest .224/.279/.381 slash line. He will face Detroit right-hander Kenta Maeda who enters Sunday's tilt with a hefty 5.93 ERA which makes Robert a solid play in DFS.

Sat Sep 28 202412:10Luis Robert Jr. Out Again Versus Tigers
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (rib cage) remains out of the action for Saturday's tilt at Comerica Park against the division-rival Detroit Tigers. Robert will be missing his second straight game due to soreness in his rib cage. It remains to be seen if he'll be feeling good enough to give it a go in the season finale on Sunday. Dominic Fletcher will make another start in center field and will hit seventh against Tigers right-handed opener Beau Brieske. Fletcher, 27, should be avoided as a deep sleeper in DFS lineups with his .209/.258/.260 slash line on the year in 215 at-bats. He has cleared the fences just once and driven in 16 on the year. If Robert doesn't play again this year, the Cuban slugger will finish with a .224/.279/.381 slash line with a weak .661 OPS, 14 home runs, 35 RBI and 22 stolen bases in his 388 at-bats. The 27-year-old was a first-time All-Star in 2023 when he hit a career-high 38 homers, but that is looking like an outlier.

Fri Sep 27 202416:49Luis Robert Jr. Out With Sore Ribs
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (rib cage) is dealing with some soreness in his rib-cage area and is out of the starting lineup on Friday against the division-rival Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The injury isn't considered serious, though, and he could return on Saturday for the second game of the series. Dominic Fletcher will make the start in center field on Friday and will hit ninth for the Pale Hose against Tigers right-hander Brenan Hanifee. Fletcher will be a deep DFS sleeper to avoid on Friday, as the 27-year-old outfielder has gone 44-for-212 (.208) on the year with just one home run and 16 RBI. After making his first All-Star appearance in 2023, Robert has hit a career-low .227 (88-for-388) this year. He has managed a career-high 22 stolen bases while also contributing 14 home runs and just 36 RBI for a terrible White Sox team.

Fri Sep 6 202416:15Luis Robert Jr. Returns To Lineup On Friday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) is starting in center field and is batting second on Friday against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Nick Pivetta at Fenway Park. Robert is back in action following an off day on Thursday after he was removed from Wednesday's contest early with tightness in his right hamstring. The 27-year-old has always provided intriguing power/speed upside, but he's given fantasy managers very little else on the worst team in baseball in 2024. The Cuban outfielder has provided 14 homers and 21 stolen bases in 319 at-bats, but it's also come with a .219 average, .274 on-base percentage and just 34 RBI. In 11 career at-bats against Pivetta, Robert has hit .182 with an RBI. Since the All-Star break, Robert has hit .203/.232/.304 with a .536 OPS, just three home runs, 11 RBI, five walks and 61 strikeouts in 39 games.

Wed Sep 4 202421:09Luis Robert Jr. Leaves Wednesday's Game Early With Hamstring Injury
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) left Wednesday's game early due to a tight hamstring, according to Vinnie Duber of CHGO Sports. It appeared the outfielder suffered the injury sometime when running the bases in the sixth inning. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to any updates regarding the star outfielder before their game on Friday evening against the Boston Red Sox. Before the injury, Robert was in the midst of a 4-for-31 slump after posting a strong .381/.385/.548 line through the early part of August. Even though the 27-year-old has had a disappointing season, fantasy managers playing in five-outfielder leagues should still slot him back into their lineups for the remainder of the summer.

Mon Sep 2 202412:15Luis Robert Jr., Andrew Vaughn Sitting On Monday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert and first baseman Andrew Vaughn are both out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. It appears to be a normal day of rest for both players to start a new week. Robert had started each of the team's last seven games. Zach DeLoach is drawing into the White Sox's lineup in right field and will bat sixth, while Gavin Sheets will handle first base and will bat cleanup against Orioles right-hander Corbin Burnes. Corey Julks is serving as the designated hitter and will bat in the two-hole. Sheets is probably the most attractive DFS sleeper for his power, but he hasn't recorded a hit in six career at-bats against Burnes. Robert has an attractive power/speed combination for fantasy managers (14 homers and 21 steals), but he's hitting just .219 (68-for-311) on the year and is on the worst team in baseball.

Sat Aug 17 202409:08Luis Robert Jr. Homers Twice, Drives In Four Runs
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. had a big day at the plate in Friday's 5-4 win over the Astros. The 27-year-old went 4-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored in the contest. It was a much-needed breakout that comes on the heels of a brutal 22-game stretch in which he went 12-for-89 (.135) with just one home run. It has been a disappointing season for the Cuban after he made the All-Star team and won a Silver Slugger award in 2023, now with a .212-14-31-30-17 line through 66 games after missing two months of the season with an injury. The good news is that he's collected a hit in three straight games and August is his second-best month batting average and OPS-wise over the course of his career so this run could have legs, although the bad news is that September is by far his worst.

Mon Aug 12 202418:25Luis Robert Jr. Taking A Seat On Monday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the New York Yankees. The star outfielder will get a breather here after going 2-for-35 in his first eight games of August. It has been a tough year for Robert but hopefully he can finish the year on a strong note. Dominic Fletcher will cover center field and bat seventh versus right-hander Luis Gil on Monday.

Wed Jul 31 202412:24Luis Robert Jr. Sitting Against Royals
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is out of the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting division-rival Kansas City Royals. With Robert getting a breather for the White Sox, Dominic Fletcher will make the start in center field and will hit eighth against Royals right-hander Brady Singer. It looks like a normal day of rest for the 26-year-old power hitter on Wednesday after the White Sox chose not to deal him at Tuesday's trade deadline. The Cuban slugger has missed more time this year due to injury and is batting just .222 (46-for-207) with a .294 on-base percentage, but he's also contributed 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases for the worst team in baseball. As long as Robert is healthy, his power/speed combination makes him relevant in all fantasy formats. Fletcher is hitting .179 (14-for-78) on the year and is still searching for his first homer in 2024.

Tue Jul 30 202410:08Garrett Crochet More Likely To Be Traded Than Luis Robert Jr.
New York Post baseball columnist Jon Heyman on Tuesday reported the Chicago White Sox are more likely to trade pitcher Garrett Crochet instead of outfielder Luis Robert Jr. Both have been highly rumored to be moved before Tuesday's 6:00 pm ET deadline, yet Heyman feels the White Sox are more apt to move Crochet, who is second in the majors with 160 strikeouts. However, Crochet has demanded a contract extension before being moved, while questions about his workload have been debated. Both names are going to be hot on Tuesday, so fantasy managers of both Crochet and Robert should brace for major news.

Tue Jul 23 202415:28Luis Robert Jr. A Perfect Fit For The Phillies?
ESPN's Jeff Passan believes Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. would be a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Phillies. In his latest column, Passan feels the National League East leaders lack an "impact center fielder," and Robert would be the ideal choice. Robert is hitting .232/.306/.475 with 11 homers, 23 RBI, and 23 runs scored over 47 games. He is a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts. The subject of trade rumors, if Robert were to arrive in Philadelphia, he would give the Phillies one of the most imposing lineups in the league and would also see his numbers increase, which is good news for fantasy managers.

Mon Jul 8 202422:34Luis Robert Jr. Unlikely To Be Traded
General managers around the league are skeptical as to whether any team will meet the Chicago White Sox's high asking price for oft-injured center fielder Luis Robert Jr. However, the market for right-handed starting pitcher Erick Fedde, who is 6-3 on the year with a 3.13 ERA, is expected to be robust leading up to the trade deadline at the end of July. Robert received his first All-Star selection last year, when he hit .264/.315/.542 with an .857 OPS, 38 home runs, 80 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 145 games, the first time in his career he'd played more than 98 games in a single season. But the 26-year-old right-handed slugger caught the injury bug already in 2024 and has disappointed to the tune of a .227/.301/.496 slash line with 10 homers, 19 RBI and six thefts in 37 games. Chicago may prefer to wait until the offseason or next summer to trade Robert when his value is higher if he can stay healthy the rest of 2024.

Mon Jul 8 202419:19Luis Robert Jr. Out Against Twins
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. heads to the bench for Monday's series opener against the visiting division-rival Minnesota Twins. With Robert getting a breather, Andrew Benintendi, Corey Julks and Gavin Sheets will start across the outfield in Chicago from right to left, respectively. Tommy Pham was scheduled to start in center and bat leadoff, but he was scratched due to a dental issue. The 26-year-old Robert will get a day off after starting in each of the team's last 12 games. Robert has so far been a fantasy bust in 2024 after setting career-highs in homers (38) and stolen bases (20) in 2023 while earning his first All-Star selection. Unsurprisingly, though, he's missed time with another injury this year and is currently slashing .227/.301/.496 with 10 home runs, 19 RBI and six stolen bases in 37 games. He should still be rostered in all fantasy formats for his power and speed, and Robert could see an increase in value if he's traded at the deadline to a contender.

Wed Jul 3 202400:56Luis Robert Jr. Has Big Offensive Day Tuesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. did a bit of everything offensively in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Guardians. Robert Jr. went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run, four RBI, a strikeout, and a stolen base. The 26-year-old turned on a sixth-inning Carlos Carrasco slider, putting it just over the left-field wall to tie the game. Robert Jr. has provided power but has been disappointing overall, slashing .215/.286/.512 with 10 HR, 19 runs scored, 18 RBI, and four stolen bases in 133 plate appearances. He missed time with a right hip flexor strain as well but stayed healthy in 2023 and put together a great season. His fantasy ceiling is quite high, so fantasy managers should continue to put their trust in him if they can afford it.
