Wed Apr 217:51Freddy Peralta Dazzles In No-Decision Against Royals
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta certainly pitched well enough to get a win on Wednesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals at American Family Field, but instead he picked up a no-decision in a 3-2 extra-innings win despite allowed just one earned run on two hits while walking none and striking out eight in eight innings of work. The 28-year-old Dominican allowed his only run in the second inning and then retired the last 19 batters that he faced in his second outing of 2025. Peralta's eight innings pitched tied a career high, and he's looked excellent in the early going in 2025, as he now sports a 2.08 ERA with 16 strikeouts and only one walk in 13 innings pitched. He's essentially a must-start in fantasy lineups when he takes the ball, but he could be more volatile in his next scheduled outing in Colorado against the Rockies at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Fri Mar 2806:09Freddy Peralta Fans Eight In First Start Of The Season
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta got his season off to a strong start despite a tough environment on the road at Yankee Stadium. Peralta had eight strikeouts in five innings while giving up four hits and two earned runs. Both runs he allowed were on solo home runs from Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe in the first two innings. The 28-year-old took the loss even though he kept his team in the game and departed with the score just 2-1. He only worked five innings since his pitch count was at 93, so he'll need to improve his efficiency to work deeper into games to be an elite fantasy option. His strikeouts were encouraging, though, and he'll look to build on his momentum in his next start, which lines up to be next week at home against the Royals.

Wed Feb 1213:34Brewers Name Freddy Peralta As Opening Day Starter
Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said on Wednesday that right-hander Freddy Peralta will be the team's Opening Day starter in 2025 on March 27 against the New York Yankees. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise for the Brew Crew with right-hander Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) likely to open the year on the injured list. It will be the second straight Opening Day start for the 28-year-old Peralta, and it won't be a great matchup for fantasy purposes against the Bronx Bombers. Peralta went 11-9 with a 3.68 ERA (4.16 FIP) and 1.21 WHIP with 200 strikeouts and 68 walks in a career-high 173 2/3 innings over 32 starts in 2024. It was the second straight year he reached the 200-strikeout mark, but that type of production is probably the ceiling at this point in his career as he heads into his eighth year in Milwaukee. Target Peralta as a safe No. 3 fantasy starter in drafts this spring.

Sat Nov 2 202420:07Milwaukee Picking Up Option On Freddy Peralta
The Milwaukee Brewers will be picking up their 2025 club option on starting pitcher Freddy Peralta, according to Jon Heyman of the NY Post. The 28-year-old operated as the ace of the Milwaukee rotation in 2024 and held a 3.68 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, with a 68:200 BB:K ratio across 173 2/3 frames of work. Under the hood, the right-hander boasted a solid 36.9% hard-hit rate and a 27.6% K rate. However, he held a below-average 8.7% barrel rate and a 37.4% ground-ball rate. Fantasy managers should expect Peralta to continue to operate as the lead of the Milwaukee rotation and be a safe bet to improve your WHIP ratio as he sits with a strong career 1.15 WHIP.

Mon Jul 1 202400:43Freddy Peralta Dominates Cubs For Sixth Win
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta was excellent on Sunday, throwing seven innings of one-run ball in a 7-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. Peralta allowed a lead-off homer to Nico Hoerner but gave up just one hit and two walks after that, striking out eight in the process. It's been a bit of a roller coaster season for the 28-year-old, with fantasy managers (and the Brewers themselves) not knowing what he's going to do in any given start. All in all, though, it's been a pretty nice season, as Peralta has a 6-4 record with a 3.83 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 120 strikeouts in 94 IP. He should be viewed as a must-start given his upside.

Thu Jun 20 202406:44Freddy Peralta Strikes Out Eight In Win
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta was dominant in a 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday. Peralta tossed six innings of shutout ball, striking out eight while allowing just three hits and walking two. The 28-year-old racked up 18 swinging strikes in the game on the way to improving his record to 5-4 on the year. An elite source of strikeouts in fantasy, Peralta will take a 4.06 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts over 82 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come Monday against the Texas Rangers.

Thu May 23 202410:06Freddy Peralta Fans Seven In Loss
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta made a quality start but took the loss Wednesday in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Marlins. Peralta allowed a solo home run to the first batter he saw, Jazz Chisholm Jr., and that was the difference in the ballgame. Peralta went seven innings allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out seven. It was a much-needed bounce-back game from the 27-year-old, as he had allowed three earned runs or more in four of his last five starts, including five earned his last time out. The righty now has a 3.81 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a strong 23.0% K-BB% on the season. He'll take on the Cubs in his next start next Monday at home.

Sat May 11 202412:06Freddy Peralta Back From Suspension, Starting Saturday
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta has been reinstated from his five-game suspension and is making the start on Saturday against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. Peralta was given a five-game suspension for throwing at Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri on April 30. The 27-year-old likely went through his in-between-starts routine this week after last starting on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs, so he shouldn't have his workload limited in any way on Saturday in a good matchup against St. Louis. The Cardinals currently have the fourth-worst OPS (.631) in all of baseball. Only the offenses of the White Sox, Marlins and Pirates are worse. Peralta is 3-1 on the year with a 3.49 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 50 K's in 38 2/3 innings over his seven starts. Start him on Saturday against St. Louis.

Mon May 6 202419:09Freddy Peralta Begins Serving Five-Game Suspension
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta confirmed on Sunday his plans to drop his five-game suspension for intentionally throwing at Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri last Tuesday. Peralta will start serving his suspension on Monday and will be eligible to make his next start on Saturday against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals. The 27-year-old took his first loss of the year against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday by allowing three earned runs on three hits while walking a season-high six and striking out five in five innings. Despite the loss, Peralta has still had a successful season to this point with a 3.49 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 50 strikeouts in 38 2/3 frames over his first seven starts. Fantasy managers will want to get him back in their lineups for his next matchup with St. Louis this weekend.

Wed May 1 202413:33Freddy Peralta, Abner Uribe Suspended
After the Milwaukee Brewers' benches-clearing brawl against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, pitchers Freddy Peralta (five games) and Abner Uribe (six games) and manager Pat Murphy (two games) have been suspended. Both Peralta and Uribe are appealing their suspensions and won't have to sit out immediately for the series finale against Tampa on Wednesday. Peralta is being suspended for intentionally throwing at Rays outfielder Jose Siri. The 27-year-old was ejected as a result. Since he's appealing, he should be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday versus the Chicago Cubs. Uribe incited the benches-clearing incident when he threw a punch at Siri after he grounded out in the eighth inning. The 23-year-old reliever has three saves on the year but also a 6.75 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 13 appearances for Milwaukee.

Tue Apr 30 202423:23Freddy Peralta Fans Seven In Third Victory
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta threw 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball with one hit and seven punchouts in Tuesday's victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Peralta surrendered his first hit of the night in the third inning off a solo shot by Jose Siri. Peralta now sports a 3.21 ERA and a stunning 0.86 WHIP across 33 2/3 innings with 45 strikeouts. The 27-year-old remains an excellent starting pitcher and an elite contributor to your fantasy team's WHIP. He is scheduled to face the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Monday, May 6, in his next start.

Thu Apr 25 202418:13Freddy Peralta Gives Up Five Runs On Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta surrendered five runs on five hits across 4 2/3 innings of work during Thursday's 7-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. He struck out five batters and allowed a season-high five walks in the no-decision. It was not the sharpest outing for the 27-year-old, who saw his season ERA balloon from 1.90 to 3.18 with the performance. Peralta remains one of the premier arms in fantasy baseball and today's outing was merely a blip on the radar. He should still be confidently started in all formats going into his next projected outing against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Thu Apr 11 202401:17Freddy Peralta Aims For More Success Against Reds
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta is settling in nicely to his new role as the team's ace ahead of Thursday's road start against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds. After allowing 12 runs in 15 innings of spring training, Peralta has totaled a 3.09 ERA (2.80 FIP), 0.60 WHIP, and 15:2 K:BB over his first 11 2/3 innings of the regular season. In five appearances (24 2/3 IP) against the Reds since 2022, the 27-year-old All-Star right-hander is 3-0 with a sublime 1.46 ERA and 37:6 K:BB. Peralta has thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings against Cincy during this stretch, and the current Reds roster is a collective 6-for-40 with just two extra-base hits against Peralta. He should be treated as one of the premier fantasy plays across all formats on Thursday's seven-game slate.

Sat Mar 30 202400:56Freddy Peralta Allows One Hit In 2024 Debut
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta dominated the New York Mets in Friday's 3-1 Opening Day victory, collecting the win and tossing six innings of one-hit ball with one walk and eight strikeouts. Other than serving up a Starling Marte home run that barely left the ballpark during the second frame, Peralta put on a nearly perfect showing in Milwaukee's regular-season opener. With Corbin Burnes in Baltimore and Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) out of action for 2024, Peralta will be relied on as the new Brewers ace this season. The 28-year-old Dominican right-hander struggled during the first half of 2023, but he amassed a strong 2.81 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 103:16 K:BB over his final 13 starts (73.2 IP) of his last campaign and hopes that momentum carries into this year. Peralta is next scheduled to get the ball against the visiting Seattle Mariners during a three-game weekend set starting next Friday.

Wed Feb 28 202418:12Freddy Peralta To Start Opening Day For Brewers
With Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) recovering from shoulder surgery and Corbin Burnes recently being traded to the Baltimore Orioles, right-hander Freddy Peralta was the logical choice to be the team's Opening Day starter in 2024 on the road against the New York Mets on March 28. General manager Matt Arnold confirmed this. "We are counting on him this year, and he is going to be our Opening Day starter," Arnold said. Peralta has a 3.83 ERA over 580 innings pitched in his six-year career with the Brewers. After an injury-plagued 2022, the 27-year-old stayed healthy last year and set career-highs in starts (30) and innings (165 2/3) while boasting an excellent 30.9% strikeout rate, which ranked fourth in the league. He was undone by the long ball, so if Peralta can keep the ball in the yard more in 2024, he could be even better this year as a high-end No. 2 fantasy starter.

Wed Oct 4 202300:03Freddy Peralta Named Game 2 Starter For Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers officially named right-hander Freddy Peralta their Game 2 starter in the wild-card series on Wednesday against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. Peralta will be tasked with keeping Milwaukee's season alive after they dropped Game 1 on Tuesday by a score of 6-3. The Brew Crew will not have Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) for the wild-card series, and he might not even be available the rest of the postseason if the Brewers advance to the National League Division Series or beyond. Peralta was solid in 2023, going 12-10 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 210 strikeouts in 165 2/3 innings over his 30 starts. The 27-year-old didn't actually face the Diamondbacks at all during the regular season. Peralta was slightly better at home with a 3.44 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 12.8 K/9 in 89 innings over 16 starts.

Thu Sep 28 202321:08Freddy Peralta, Brandon Woodruff Won't Pitch This Weekend
The Milwaukee Brewers will give right-handers Freddy Peralta and Brandon Woodruff some extra rest before the postseason and won't have them pitch in the final series of the regular season this weekend against the Chicago Cubs. Woodruff will throw some live batting practice on Friday as his final tune-up. The Brewers could face the Cubs next week in the wild-card series as well, so they'll keep the Cubs from potentially facing two of their starters twice. Peralta, 27, will finish his 2023 season with a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 210 strikeouts in 165 2/3 innings over 30 starts. Woodruff, 30, was even better with a 2.28 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 74 K's in 67 innings pitched in just 11 starts due to injury.

Tue Sep 19 202300:55Freddy Peralta Pitches Well, Takes Tough Loss Monday
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta turned in another strong start but took the loss in Monday's 1-0 game against the Cardinals. Peralta pitched six innings, allowing a single run on four hits (including a solo home run) and no walks with six strikeouts. The 27-year-old had a rough start to the season but has really picked things up and now owns a 12-9 record with a 3.71 ERA and an 11.40 K/9 rate in 29 starts. His next matchup will be a middling one at the Marlins, but fantasy managers should feel comfortable relying on him for the final few weeks of the season.

Sat Sep 2 202300:55Freddy Peralta Spins Six Two-Hit Innings On Friday
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta launched six two-hit innings, permitting just one run and striking out 10 for a no-decision on Friday versus the Philadelphia Phillies. After Kyle Schwarber took him deep to open the game, Peralta locked it in the rest of the way, yielding only one more baserunner before his night ended at the close of the sixth inning. The 27-year-old has been dealing for the first-place Brewers lately, notching a 1.71 ERA and 0.79 WHIP with 69 punchouts over his last seven starts (42 innings). Peralta will look stay in the zone for next week's start lined up for Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
