Sat Feb 22 | 13:44 | Taylor Trammell Strains Calf |
Houston Astros outfielder Taylor Trammell (calf) suffered a right calf strain while running the bases on Friday. Brian McTaggart of MLB.com noted that the outfielder is expected to be sidelined for "a little bit." Trammell was traded to the Astros from the New York Yankees earlier in the offseason in exchange for cash considerations. Last summer, Trammell appeared in just 10 MLB contests (split with the Dodgers and Yankees) and held a .143/.250/.143 line. During the 2023 campaign, Trammell held a .130/.286/.326 line across 22 contests with the Seattle Mariners. Given this recent injury and lack of success in the majors, the 27-year-old will likely open the campaign in the minor leagues. |

Thu Apr 18 2024 | 16:22 | Yankees Claim Taylor Trammell Off Waivers From Dodgers |
The New York Yankees claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. To make room on their 40-man roster, the Yankees designated infielder Kevin Smith for assignment. The Dodgers dumped Trammell off their 40-man roster earlier this week after going hitless with three strikeouts in six plate appearances with them over five games. The former 35th overall pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016 out of high school just has not been able to figure out major-league pitching in 121 games, batting .165 (51-for-310) with 15 home runs, 39 RBI and four stolen bases. For now, he'll ride the pine in the Bronx while providing outfield depth behind Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, Alex Verdugo and Trent Grisham. |

Mon Apr 8 2024 | 19:13 | Taylor Trammell Draws Into Dodgers Lineup |
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Taylor Trammell is starting in left field and is batting ninth for the Dodgers on Monday against the Minnesota Twins and right-handed Bailey Ober for the series opener. The former top prospect with the Seattle Mariners will make his first start for the Blue after being claimed off waivers from Seattle and called up to the majors when Jason Heyward (back) landed on the injured list last week. The 26-year-old probably isn't going to see many more starts this year and isn't a recommended DFS play for Monday's slate. The left-handed hitter is a career .167/.269/.367 hitter in 118 big-league games with 15 home runs, 39 RBI and four stolen bases in 352 plate appearances. Trammell didn't record a hit in his only career at-bat against Ober. |

Tue Apr 2 2024 | 19:38 | Dodgers Claim Taylor Trammell Off Waivers From Mariners |
The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers on Tuesday after he was recently designated for assignment by the Seattle Mariners, according to a source. Trammell, 26, has not lived up to his first-round pedigree since the Cincinnati Reds took him 35th overall in 2016. All three of his big-league seasons have come with the Seattle Mariners, and he's hit just .168/.270/.368 with 15 home runs, 39 RBI, four stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 116 games played. In the last three years with the M's, Trammell has struck out nearly 40 percent of the time. If it was hard for Trammell to stick at the major-league level with the Mariners, it's going to be even harder to do so in the Dodgers' organization. |

Sun Jul 23 2023 | 13:46 | Taylor Trammell Starting On Sunday Against Toronto |
Seattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell is starting in left field for Sunday's series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays. Trammell was called up in the wake of Jarred Kelenic's (foot) injury earlier in the week so this will be his first game starting. Dylan Moore, who's played in every contest since Kelenic went down, will be getting Sunday off. Trammell owns a .274/.387/.537 batting line with 12 home runs, 32 RBI, and six stolen bases across 45 games at Triple-A Tacoma this season but is batting just .133 with a .611 OPS in 20 games with the M's. There's not much, if any, fantasy appeal here. Trammell is batting eighth and Kolten Wong, who is starting at second base, is batting ninth against Alek Manoah. |

Thu Apr 13 2023 | 12:52 | Taylor Trammell Close To Rehab Assignment |
Seattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell (hand) is getting close to going on a minor-league rehab assignment and is "probably looking at a few more days," according to manager Scott Servais. Trammell has picked up his baseball activity in Arizona and has been hitting off a pitching machine. He suffered a broken hamate bone in his right hand in February and has been on the shelf since after having surgery. The 25-year-old missed all of spring training, so he'll need plenty of game action in the minors before the Mariners even think about calling him up to the Show. Injuries continue to be the story for Trammell, who played in just 43 games for Seattle in 2022. He'll have to produce to prove he belongs on the big-league roster in 2023. |

Wed Feb 15 2023 | 21:53 | Taylor Trammell To Have Surgery On His Hand |
Seattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell (hand) will have surgery on his right hand to fix a broken hamate bone. Trammell is expected to be out for six to seven weeks, so he'll most likely enter the 2023 season on the injured list. The 25-year-old wasn't a lock to make Seattle's Opening Day roster to begin with, and this all but officially counts him out now. It's another tough blow for Trammell, a former first-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016. He has really struggled at the plate the last two years with the M's, hitting .174/.267/.376 with a .643 OPS, 12 home runs, 28 RBI, 38 runs scored and four stolen bases in 94 games played. Trammell's injury will afford Jarred Kelenic, Dylan Moore and Sam Haggerty more opportunities in Seattle's outfield to begin the year. |

Sat Aug 13 2022 | 12:37 | Taylor Trammell Activated, Optioned To Minors |
Seattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell (hamstring) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Saturday. The team has also optioned him to Triple-A Tacoma following his activation. There is not enough room for Trammell on the roster with Julio Rodriguez and Mitch Haniger back healthy. He'll continue to play in the minors, but should return to the big league roster at some point. Fantasy managers shouldn't bother holding onto him outside of dynasty leagues where he could have long term value. |

Sat Aug 6 2022 | 11:10 | Taylor Trammell Goes Deep Friday At Triple-A |
Seattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday night while playing center field and hitting leadoff. Trammell has been out with a right hamstring strain since late June, but he's getting close to returning to Seattle. The 24-year-old has played in only 32 games for the M's this year in his second major league season, and he's hitting .235/.323/.457 with three home runs, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases in 94 plate appearances. But if he returns to regular playing time for the Mariners once he's activated from the injured list, he's worth a pickup in deeper fantasy leagues for his power alone. |

Wed Jun 29 2022 | 15:09 | Mariners Put Taylor Trammell On Injured List |
The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Taylor Trammell (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a right hamstring strain. In corresponding moves, the team selected outfielder Marcus Wilson from Triple-A Tacoma, recalled infielder/outfielder Sam Haggerty from Tacoma, optioned infielder Kevin Padlo to Tacoma and moved catcher Tom Murphy (shoulder) to the 60-day IL. Trammell came out of Tuesday's game early with a right hamstring strain, and he'll miss at least the next 10 days. The 24-year-old missed more than a month with a similar hamstring injury in the minors this year, so he could be out a while again. Trammell has played in only 32 games for Seattle this year and is hitting .235/.323/.457 with three home runs, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases. |

Sun May 22 2022 | 12:39 | Abraham Toro Goes On IL, Taylor Trammell Recalled |
The Seattle Mariners placed infielder Abraham Toro (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday and recalled outfielder Taylor Trammell from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. Seattle also selected infielder Sam Haggerty's contract from Tacoma and designated outfielder Steven Souza Jr. for assignment. Toro suffered a sprained left shoulder on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox, and it's unclear exactly when he'll be ready to return to the Mariners major league roster. The 25-year-old was hitting just .179/.237/.366, but he did have six home runs and 13 RBI in 38 games played. Trammell is starting in right field and batting ninth on Sunday against Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. He'll have to prove himself to remain in the majors after hitting .160/.256/.359 with a 42.1% strikeout rate in 51 games in 2021. |
