Thu Apr 24 | 14:25 | Jake Bauers In Starting Lineup Against Giants |
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers is making the start at first base and is batting fifth for Thursday's series finale against the San Francisco Giants and right-hander Landen Roupp at Oracle Park. With Jackson Chourio getting the day off, Christian Yelich is in left field and Rhys Hoskins is serving as the designated hitter, opening up first base for Bauers. The 29-year-old Bauers will be making only his sixth start of the season for the Brew Crew in the matinee affair. Although he hasn't seen much playing time so far in 2025, Bauers has swing the bat well, going 7-for-25 (.280) with two home runs, five RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base. The former seventh-rounder of the San Diego Padres in 2013 has one hit in just two career at-bats against Roupp. |

Wed Mar 26 | 20:47 | Jake Bauers, Isaac Collins Make Opening Day Roster |
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder/first baseman Jake Bauers and outfielder Isaac Collins have made the team's Opening Day roster, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Bauers, 29, hit .263 (10-for-38) with four doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases in 15 Cactus League games to earn a spot as a bench bat for the Brew Crew to open the 2025 season. The left-handed hitter does provide a little pop -- he has 51 long balls and 183 RBI in five major-league seasons -- but he swings and misses too much to provide a useful average, and he will need some injuries to occur to see regular playing time. Bauers will provide depth at first, in the outfield and at designated hitter. Collins, 27, will be another utility player for Milwaukee with the ability to play outfield, second and third base. He had an .861 OPS with 14 homers and 24 steals in 2024 for Triple-A Nashville. |

Mon Feb 10 | 17:42 | Jake Bauers Firmly In The Mix For Opening Day Roster Spot |
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Curt Hogg doesn't think that enough people are giving Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers a realistic shot at making the Opening Day roster in 2025. Rhys Hoskins shouldn't be seen as a lock for everyday playing time at first base, and Tyler Black's shaky defense will be under a microscope in spring training. The 29-year-old Bauers will be on a non-roster invite at spring training after re-signing to a minor-league deal this offseason. The left-handed hitter appeared in 116 games for the Brew Crew last year but hit only .199/.301/.361 with a below-average .662 OPS, 12 home runs, 43 RBI, a career-high 13 stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 346 trips to the plate. Bauers has a career strikeout rate over 30%, so he's not going to hit for average, but he his decent power/speed profile could be interesting if he makes a decent amount of starts at first base against right-handed pitching in 2025. |

Tue Nov 5 2024 | 11:25 | Jake Bauers, Bryse Wilson Become Free Agents |
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers and right-hander Bryse Wilson both cleared waivers on Monday and were outrighted to Triple-A Nashville. Both Bauers and Wilson were arbitration-eligible but will become free agents after being cast off the team's 40-man roster. Bauers matched his previous career-high of 12 home runs and also drove in 43 and stole a career-high 13 bases in 116 games in 2024 in his first year in Milwaukee, but he also hit just .199 with a .301 on-base percentage, .361 slugging percentage and below-average .662 OPS. He's now hit only .208 in five big-league seasons with five different teams. Wilson, 26, served as a swingman for Milwaukee this year, going 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with a career-high 82 K's and 31 walks in 104 2/3 frames over his 34 outings (nine starts). |

Fri Oct 4 2024 | 01:53 | Jake Bauers Smacks Tiebreaking Homer In Game 3 Loss |
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers delivered a clutch pinch-hit solo home run in the seventh inning of Game 3 in the Wild Card series against the New York Mets on Thursday. Bauers homer put the Crew in the lead, but unfortunately they could not hold on and ended up losing 4-2. Bauers finished the postseason 2-for-6 with a homer and an RBI. He will have a good chance to make the Brewers roster out of Spring Training next year if he remains with the team, but he would likely be a platoon option at best. |

Thu Jun 27 2024 | 07:04 | Jake Bauers Hits Grand Slam Wednesday |
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers had a huge game in his team's 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers in 10 innings on Wednesday. Bauers went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk to help power the Brewers to the win. The veteran first baseman gave the Brewers a 4-1 lead in the third inning with his grand slam, a monster shot that traveled 444 feet and had an exit velocity of 108 MPH. Overall, Bauers is hitting .219 with seven homers, 23 runs, 32 RBI, and seven steals across 169 at-bats for the Brewers this season. |

Tue May 14 2024 | 07:40 | Jake Bauers Continues Hit Streak On Monday |
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers increased his hit streak to four games on Monday by knocking a single and a grand slam. On the season, the 28-year-old has a solid .244/.326/.476 line with four home runs, four stolen bases, and 21 RBI. Since the start of May, he has been riding an impressive .346/.500/.727 line with a strong 5:9 BB:K ratio. Bauers has only been in the lineup against right-handed pitchers so far this season which does hinder his fantasy value. Nonetheless, in deeper mixed leagues and NL-only formats, fantasy managers looking for a strong source of power should consider adding Bauers to their team. |

Fri Nov 17 2023 | 18:13 | Brewers Acquire Jake Bauers From Yankees |
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers from the New York Yankees on Friday in exchange for outfielders Jace Avina and Brian Sanchez. Bauers' versatility in the outfield and at first base is nice, but he just hasn't done much offensively in his four major-league seasons to this point with the Tampa Bay Rays, Cleveland Guardians, Seattle Mariners and Yankees, slashing .211/.302/.361 with 39 home runs, 140 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 412 games played. In 84 games in pinstripes in 2023, he hit just .202 (49-for-242) with a career-high-tying 12 homers, 15 doubles, 30 RBI, three stolen bases and 28 runs scored in 272 plate appearances. The left-handed-hitting 28-year-old will attempt to win the majority of playing time at first base from Rowdy Tellez in Milwaukee in 2024. |

Sun Jul 23 2023 | 12:03 | Jake Bauers Activated And Starting Sunday |
The New York Yankees activated outfielders Jake Bauers (shoulder) and Greg Allen (hip) from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and optioned infielder/outfielder Franchy Cordero to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Bauers is immediately back in the team's starting lineup on Sunday to face right-hander Jordan Lyles and the Kansas City Royals. He's playing right field and batting leadoff. The 27-year-old went 7-for-9 with two home runs and two doubles during three minor-league rehab games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and Sunday will be his first big-league game since going on the injured list on July 6 with a left rotator-cuff inflammation. The left-handed hitter should see time against right-handers, at least until Aaron Judge (toe) returns from his injury. |

Tue Jul 18 2023 | 08:34 | Jake Bauers Joins Triple-A Club |
New York Yankees outfielder Jake Bauers (shoulder) joined Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday as he continues to work back from a left rotator-cuff contusion. The 27-year-old plans to work out in the team's facility for a couple of days before he starts a rehab assignment on Friday. Before his injury in early July, Bauers was putting up his best offensive campaign, slashing .224/.312/.470 with seven homers, 18 runs, 19 RBI, and two steals over 49 games. Still, fantasy managers should only stash the former seventh-round selection in deeper formats, as he likely won't be back until August. |

Fri Jul 7 2023 | 17:23 | Jake Bauers Goes On Injured List, Franchy Cordero Called Up |
The New York Yankees placed outfielder Jake Bauers (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 6) on Friday with a left rotator-cuff contusion and recalled infielder/outfielder Franchy Cordero from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. It's unknown how long Bauers will be out after injuring his left shoulder while diving for a ball in the outfield on Wednesday. The 27-year-old was seeing regular playing time in right field with Aaron Judge (toe) out and was hitting .224 with seven homers in 134 at-bats. Cordero could now see decent playing time in right for the Yanks until Judge is able to return. He's starting in right and batting ninth on Friday against Chicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon. |

Thu Jul 6 2023 | 19:01 | Jake Bauers Sitting On Thursday With Shoulder Injury |
New York Yankees outfielder Jake Bauers (shoulder) was held out of Thursday's lineup versus the Baltimore Orioles with a shoulder problem. The 27-year-old is set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage after he tried to make a diving catch during Wednesday's game. Bauer was able to remain in the contest, but ultimately couldn't get into Thursday's lineup. Manager Aaron Boone didn't shut down the possibility of Bauers being available off the bench for this one, so it may not be a lengthy absence. Harrison Bader returns to action on Thursday to patrol center field and bat cleanup, shifting Isiah Kiner-Falefa to left while he hits eighth vs. Kyle Bradish. |

Wed May 3 2023 | 16:16 | Jake Bauers Back In Wednesday's Lineup |
New York Yankees outfielder Jake Bauers (knee) is back in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the Cleveland Guardians, starting in right field and batting seventh against right-hander Shane Bieber. A right-knee injury had kept Bauers out of action for the last three days, but he's back in there on Wednesday in a tough matchup against Cleveland's ace. The 27-year-old has played in just one game in New York this year, but his first plate appearance on Wednesday will be his first of the year. In 21 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Bauers went 21-for-69 (.304) with five doubles, a triple, nine home runs, 20 RBI and five steals. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues that are looking for power in the short term should consider Bauers while Aaron Judge (hip) is on the injured list. |

Fri Jun 3 2022 | 20:15 | Yankees Acquire Jake Bauers From Reds |
The New York Yankees acquired infielder/outfielder Jake Bauers from the Cincinnati Reds on Friday in exchange for cash considerations. Bauers was a top prospect in the Tampa Bay Rays system before getting dealt to Cleveland and struggling in two seasons. He spent last year with the Guardians and Seattle Mariners, going a combined 59-for-282 (.209) with four home runs, 19 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases in 315 plate appearances over 115 games. The 26-year-old has a slash line of .213/.307/.348 with 27 homers, 110 RBI and 15 stolen bases in three big-league seasons, and he has yet to play in a major league game in 2022. Bauers was hitting just .135 (13-for-96) with three homers, 12 RBI and four steals in 29 games for Triple-A Louisville before the trade on Friday. |

Mon Sep 20 2021 | 15:14 | Jake Bauers Goes Yard Sunday |
Seattle Mariners first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers flashed some impressive power Sunday, hitting a towering 464-foot home run. It was his only hit in five at-bats against the Kansas City Royals. The solo shot now gives Bauers four homers on the year in 273 at-bats to go with six steals and a .579 OPS. Bauers isn't rosterable for fantasy purposes, but he could become a deep-league option in the future should he manage to garner regular playing time. |

Thu Sep 16 2021 | 00:39 | Jake Bauers Steals A Base Wednesday |
Seattle Mariners first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers entered as a pinch-hitter in Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox and stole a base after being hit by a pitch in his only plate appearance. Bauers now has six steals on the year. With only 19 plate appearances in 10 September games, Bauers is simply not rosterable in fantasy leagues, but he's seemingly forged out a safe spot on Seattle's major league roster as a bench bat against lefties. |

Tue Aug 24 2021 | 01:49 | Jake Bauers Drives In Two, Steals a Base |
Seattle Mariners utility man Jake Bauers earned a start Monday against the Texas Rangers, and he made it count by going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base. The steal gives him four on the season. Bauers is firmly a part-time player with just 31 at-bats this month, but he's found a way to contribute with his three homers and four steals this season. It would take quite a series of events to bring him to fantasy relevance. |

Mon Aug 9 2021 | 00:39 | Jake Bauers Steals Base Sunday |
Seattle Mariners first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers got the start in right field batting batting ninth against the New York Yankees Sunday, and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base, his second of the season. Bauers has seen his playing time dip of late, with just 32 at-bats in his last 15 games, and he isn't earning much more with his .466 OPS in that span. He offers a bit of everything, but only a bit, earning him a spot on the waiver wire. |
